I don't want to sound like a DARE commercial, but seeing that this board is about health and fitness and the pursuit of a wholesome lifestyle, I wanted to share my opinion on something.
Last night, I smoked weed for the first and last time. What a mistake. I'm not into drugs. The reason I did it was vanity. I did't want to drink because it alters my diet, so I figured weed was the next best thing, but it is not at all, in my opinion. I am naturally contemplative by nature, and weed manipulated and altered my perceptions to the point where I was basically overthinking. I was paranoid and self conscious among other things. Very bad. The worst part is that I feel really disappointed in myself for smoking. Seriously. I feel like I just got an F in life. Of course this is me just overthinking things again, but I just wanted to share my experience and anti-drug message with people. Next time, I'll just cheat on my diet... with a fruit smoothie or something. I guess the point of the story is- don't let vanity dictate your actions in spite of your better sense. |

Nope. No fear. Just disappointment.

Just got to true to yourself. Every single friend I got smokes weed.....some of them own bongs.....etc......some smoke daily or several times a day...some smoke occassionally...I can see the effects even if they can't.....I don't try to stop them from doing whatever they want...although I sometimes do say my opinion on the subject....
The reason for me is simple ....why do something which has no real benefit...for a healthy person....perhaps for a 80 yr old grandmother with glycoma ....fine....whatever helps...but for healthy young people or adults....I just don't see it..... | |

Good call on your decision Frosh. EVERYONE makes mistakes and with most mistakes, you do get a second chance.
You may have graded yourself an "F" on this one, but one is NOT defined and will not be judged by a single event in life (less the extreme). Suck it up, move on, and live better. -------------- _Shane I dont have to outrun the bear - just you.... |

at least now you know what its like.. and its pretty much plain garbage. you've realized that your overall health is much more important than the short fix from weed..
i was kind of in the same situation, getting into drugs and alcohol alot before, but ive managed to control my urges. dont get me wrong, i still have a few drinks when i go out, but i've learned the difference between having a good time and destroying my body and compensating my health goals. props to you man for realizing this too.. |

Dont get down on your self. It sounds like you smoked a little too much for your first time. Look at it this way, it was a learning experience. You tried something as a adult , in a safe surounding, and you did not enjoy the experience. You learned, and it is all over and done with. It is not like you spent the kids food money on crack!LOL Dont be so down on your self. In alot of peoples opinion, pot is no where neer as bad as alcohol, and beer & wisky are legal, plenty of people make complete fools of them selfs without any help!

Weed smoking is for those who can handle it. there some great gains that I have found smoking. for instance the focus I get when I smoke, I can block everything out and concentrate on the task at hand.

You didn't fall in love like most of us do and this is a A+ in life.
Beside Girls, Baseball was my 1st love then I cheated on Baseball with weed and never turned back and went into a whole F'd up direction until I cleaned-up years after! Trust me you get an A+ because you don't like it, believe me not it's that 1st high everyone falls in love with and keeps chasing after to repeat and never succeed at it so then most go to a BIGGER DRUG in time and find a new high and repeat that chase! It's HELL and you didn't get sucked in! I never met 1 person, once into weed that didn't show signs of addition! I never met too many but a few that could admit they where addicted unless it was a person already in recovery! So people me take this as a joke and laugh it off but all it takes is 1 time to love that high and your not turning back or at least for a real long time! ============ Quoting from froshman: I don't want to sound like a DARE commercial, but seeing that this board is about health and fitness and the pursuit of a wholesome lifestyle, I wanted to share my opinion on something. Hey froshman - isn't it funny when really old posts get dragged up and people respond as if it just happened?
Glad you are still on the healthy path - as a former heavy user i would say it definitely had a negative impact in my life.
