One for the ladies

newboy1 Posts: 39 Joined: 2005/02/13	2005/03/20, 08:41 PM I'm sure that a lot of people who are currently working out are doing it to improve there fittnes levles and actractiveness to the oposite sex. my question is at the risk of apearing shallow.....What do the oposite sex actually go for. As a man I tend to think that the bigger the better but if you look at celebs and people in the public eye it seems to be tone that comes above size when it comes to being a babe magnett. What do the woman that use this board think on the subject?.

And please wanting to look good isn't shallow just sensible, as animals we should not let ourselves become unfit.

Many of the celebs that are 'attractive' in the mainstream media are very undesirable to me. A babe magnet... hmmm. A man who is funny, good looking but not vain about it, stable emotionally... maybe freaky big muscles or maybe yet to be developed. -------------- GYPO (JK)

The guy may open his mouth and turn out to be a complete turd but you dont know that at this stage were talking purely looks here and nothing else personality comes later. i.e, short, tall, bald, hairy, built, toned, etc.

My man is not exactly what women would consider "attractive". He's a bit pudgy and has acne. I do not want to seem self-indulgent, but I am considered a "pretty" girl. All my girlfriends have boyfriends who are considered "pretty boys". They all have nice cars and big muscles. I used to date them but I'll never go back. I know you want to focus on physical attraction, but honestly, IT DOES NOT REALLY MATTER! Nice guys finish last!!! If you just want to get laid, then go right ahead, but if you want a long-term prospect, focus on attitude :)

Other qualities I like obviously after the first look qualities are a great set of abs and really nice legs. Strong calves and great thighs...those thighs that look like they could break you in half if they got a good grip on you...HeHeHeHeHe:big_smile::cool::laugh::love:

Oh btw I'm not trying to get a GF I'm sorted in that dep, its just that I think a lot of men on here will be surprized when they see what woman actually go for most on first looks. It will be intresting if theres enough replyes to take an average. I believe that the results may influance some peoples ultimate goals.
timmstar Posts: 426 Joined: 2003/12/08	2005/03/23, 02:25 AM Guys and girls have different hormones.. just because we get attracted to chics off first hand by looks does not mean they will by us... alot of chics also think of u as a "player" when ur more good looking and have a better body... but if ur trying to attract chics.. try just having Confidence and a Sense of Humour, and try to actually "LEAD" ur own life... dont be a stupid follower... if they wanted that theyed get a sheep and if they wanted a "listener" theyed get another "Girlfriend"

	2005/03/23, 02:54 AM I think just from observation most women like a guy who's in shape...but not overly muscular with a nice 8pack...nicely sculpted arms , etc...but who's not very big per se....think of a swimmers body....that's probably the ideal physique that most women like...overly big muscles actually put off most women....contrary to what most guys think....big bulky muscles actually turn off women...lol....but this is very different for each woman...hard to generalize...just like guys have very different views of what they like in a woman or what draws their attention first....not to generalize...but (eyes, smile, clevage, butt, etc...)...I would assume it's similar for women... This is like asking on what it takes to be rich....you'll get a lot of different opinions which will be very difficult to put to actual use...

But on a what turns heads basis then I would have to say that instinct would be the number one factor, there are countless studys that say that one of the major factors is the condition of the skin above any thing.

Personally I seem to be on par with the rest of the gals voicing opinions: broad shoulders, fit, not overly bulky. I like visible muscle definition and I don't like body hair! :cool: And the guy has to have a butt to squeeze! newboy - you were doing okay for credability until your last post. Here we were thinking your initial question was honourable and then you go and toss out a hulking insult. I agree with lilacdawn's last statement. Anyhow - the point is that every gal is different and will have different preferences. Also her preferemces will mature as she does. I had a crush on Dorian Yates when I started resistance training at 16! Not my thing anymore!:laugh::laugh::laugh: Some LOVE the big bulky muscles, others don't. If you look how you look I'm sure someone would find you attractive. Now what did you say earlier about: "The guy may open his mouth and turn out to be a complete turd..."?

But at first sight, nothing is more immediately striking than a guy with a sense of style. Someday men (as a general population) will learn to dress. But not today.

It's so much easier to be who you are then to be someone who you think women want you to be/look like....:/.....I lift cuz it makes me feel better about myself....I like what I look like....which may not be who women like me to look like (I am bigger/bulkier than what most women like)....I have to endure idiots constantly cracking some arnold joke thinking they are clever ...and so forth....this is why when I ask someone why they lift...and they say 'to look good for women' I know that it's an empty persuit.....these are going to be same people giving excuses why they won't work out or who will stop when they get into relationship, or just plain will stop caring.....
