This may be a stupid response to the cookie problem but when you feel like eating one... go brush your teeth. It will make the cookies (or anything else) loss their immediate appeal - taste wise

a little cabinet with a lock in which you don't have key would help - then wife can have her cookies
or ask her to get you some low carb cookies

I like the toothpaste solution. I think I am going to start doing that whenever I get cravings. That is a great idea.
Also Mutt whenever you think of cheating, think about how you feel afterwards. I know whenever I have a cheat when I am not supposed to, I feel like crap, like that one piece of pizza is going to put on 5 pounds and I am not ever going to lose weight. So whenever I get a craving I think of that feeling and ask myself Is it worth it? 9 times out of 10 I will not cave in, and if I do I won't feel as guilty about it because I have determined that it was worth it.

Hey, you know the routine -- bend over for the kick in the arse to jump start you again! Just kidding, you know I took a fall and couldn't possible exert myself, but truly, you need to know what an inspiration you are to so many and that we need to stick together and rely on one another's strength's at times, so you've done the right thing and posted your struggle and now you probably feel better just admitting to, and I know that you will find some way to combat it!! If she is going to buy cookies and there is not a way around it, how about buying something those little 100 calorie packs of cookies they have now, then at least you can control the amount you are eating as long as you stick to one pack and they are still good, better than two cookies at 100 calories, right? Some people will not ever be able to quit the sugar so the next best thing is moderation, but whatever you decide to do, I know that you have the determination to work through it!!

I also eat a Zone bar if the sweet cravings come. They are not too bad and actually taste good.

Your wife shopuldn't be eating cookies on the south beach diet, mutt!
If she can't find a way to hide them from you, she is subconsciously sabotaging your efforts.
You need to focus on how good you have been feeling on the diet, and try the riccotta cheese with cocoa powder and splenda in it - it is really good, if you don't have the SoBe book I will look it up for you!
