Most of us, since we see ourselves naked everyday, ever see any change for the first 6-8 weeks, and even that will be small. Usually, other people will notice first. I always advise people to privately take a picture of themselves in a swimsuit, and put it away for 2 months. After that time, compare it to yourself in a mirror; you will notice a big difference if you've been training, eating, and resting correctly.
Also, don't go by your bodyweight off the scale. It can be very deceiving. Go buy how you feel, look, and how your clothes fit. If you can, get your bodyfat tested monthly. You will notice differences by doing these.
Good luck!

Working out by itself may not produce the results you desire. Diet is the key to achieveing those results you see on TV. This means a quality diet, if you do not change your eating habits, exercise will make you healthier but will not do much to change your physique.
Rev hit the nail on the head ....training, eating and resting correctly.

The average weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week, one pound of fat = 3500 calories, so you would have to burn and reduce calorie intake by that much per week to lose. You still must reach your required calorie intake level or your body will reject your efforts as it knows that you need so much to get through the day and will search elsewhere (instead of reducing fat). So as was previously said, you must see what you require for calories, lower them by a couple hundred, work out and then after about two weeks see if that formula is working for you, you may have to readjust from time to time. Remember that by working out you will be rebuilding muscle which weighs more than fat and it can be deceiving so you have to hang in there. Clothing, seeing muscle where there was none before, etc. that will be the answer rather than numbers on the scale.

give yourself time .... training about 5 sometimes 4 days a week ( i change my workout around every 6 weeks) took me about 2 months to see a little difference after that in about a month i saw a total change ( my weights got heavier too!! ) and now that a been training for about 9 months everybody sees the results people at work , my girfriend , my ex girlfriend  so just stick to it.............. and believe me nutricion is the key i saw a greater change when i started to do as much effort i do in the gym in the kitchen !!
