I enjoy the clinics because there is no fighting, just learning. You pay more for these, but if you can take a couple of nuggets of info home each time, it pays for itself in fewer bruises.-------------- I will never grow up, just old. Jonathan |

GG - I agree. My favorite person to spar in my class is a 17 yr old girl. She is awesome and really challenges me.-------------- I will never grow up, just old. Jonathan |

On a side note, Im not a fan of those type of gym classes because majority of the time, the trainers know very little and I just think it is better to get in the ring and do it, rather than go to a class and usually in a boxing gym you get to go 1 on 1 training with someone as opposed to it being like a lab or lecture.
I love women  |

cool video! looks impressive how you can stay that focused while going at that speed. The closest that I would go with contact sports is Martial Arts. I did study MA for a while and got to my second belt but had to leave it cuz it was too much to pay. Kinda miss it :(-------------- Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. oscarg@freetrainers.com » oscarg.tk » 347804965@ICQ |

I dont think I could ever enter the martial arts area, I cant kick or anything worth a lick, Id get so killed.
Today though I was hitting the speed bag for about 3 minutes switching in between hands keeping the same rhythm it was so gracious, Only if I had the camera rolling...Maybe next time.... Thanks everyone for the compliments..... |

Yea Im kinda late on this disscussion but I agree with GG just get in and fight if you want to learn how to box, I don't necissarily want to do more than what I have been doing with my speed bag and my normal puncing bag, but if I was going to learn how to box I wouldn't spend more than half of my time working on the bags, I would get a friend with same intrest in boxing and same skill level and just fight and fight and fight. You learn how to do something by doing A) the theory (in boxing the exercises and bags) and B) practical experience( sparing or fighting) you get a good balance of both and you will do good. But I don't know maby I am way off I have never boxed anybody, I have gotten to the point where I can keep my speed bag going alternating each hand with I think two beets of the bags(if you have a speed bag or have used one you know what I meen) and I have knocked my whole bag assembly with the steel stand with the 200 lbs of sand on the ground and when the hook that holds the bag to the stand was undone the whole bag flew off the bag hanger and about 3 feet across the garage. But I don't know that I could do anything in the ring because I never have tried and dont have the need or the want to.
Sounds like fun thoug |

Another thing that I think is that boxing like most other things is practicaly 100% mental. You see Muhamid Ali man It was phyicaly impossable people said but he took a pounding over and over again. It took mental toughness not the ability to bench press like 70000 pounds( it could help though). So train yourself mentaly and you will just naturaly train your self physically.
PS. my spelling is bad so if there are any english teachers or anything like that I am sorry but you are gona have to suffer through it. |
