Can I have a healthy diet WITHOUT vegetables? I don't, never have and don't think I ever will enjoy vegetables. I just don't like them. Can they be substituted in some way with some other food? Maybe some of you know of a way to spice them up a little without the use of a fatty, gooey sauce?

I myself despise most vegetables I hate them even more cooked! vegetables were ment to be crunchy not soggy!

I like

celery with peanut butter or cream cheese
tomato's
Potato's
lettuce
carrots w/ ranch dip isnt to bad either but I like them raw!
Green peppers are always good!

I eat my vegetables like fruit though just raw I will grab a green pepper and go.

try some broccoli with butter buds or non fat butter powder. broccoli is also good steemed with some fresh garlic on top and a little olive oil.

Also, try asparagus grilled in foil with low fat italian dressing with some salt, pepper and garlic. it is delicious. My fiance' used to hate veggies to until i introduced her to these methods of making them taste better.

My hubby hated veggies when we met. This was mostly because he grew up in a biol-in-the-bag family and had never had fresh or perfectly cooked vegetables (you mean broccoli isn't supposed to be grey?).
Now he enjoys a lot of vegetables.
i think your palate (sense of what tastes good)changes as you start to eat new foods.
There are so many health benefits of vegetables, try picking one fresh vegetable out at the grocery store this week, learn how to cook it properly and have it with a little olive oil or even a little butter (at least until you get accustomed to eating them a little butter is okay).
Look online at recipe sites for ideas on how to cook them.

Good luck!

Vegetables are a large part of a healthy diet. There are some supplements you can take, like Green Magma, Young barley grass(very healthy stuff), for instance. Some info about green magma, and as a note, I use this stuff myslef. Great product....

Green Magma contains antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, active enzymes, bioflavonoids, chlorophyll and other phytonutrients necessary for optimal cellular metabolism, repair and protection.
Enhanced Digestion & Absorption of nutrients - Many users of Green Magma report greater regularity and fewer occurrences of indigestion.
Antioxidant Protection is provided by a synergistic combination of antioxidants including alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E, 2:-0-glycosylisovitexin (2"-0-GIV), superoxide dismutase, catalase, chlorophyll and selenium.
Gentle Detoxification by enzymes, chlorophyll and other phytochemicals, helps the body eliminate heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides and other toxins.

Of course, I eat plenty vegetables also, but this is a viable alternative if you just cannot stand them.

I wish I could remember the name but there is a powdered drink/shake that has the nutrients of 8-9 vegetables in 1 serving. Im going to try and look it up now.

freshy pick right out of the garden & usually lightly steams is my fav way for most veggies. Some you just have to have raw. I love sneaking onions right out of the garden(the nice bunching ones)

I do think that your body learns to like them alot more when you are an adult. Alot of people I know didn't eat something as a kid that they do now. Mine is broccoli -my sister & mom only got that when they needed to lose wieght - no one else was suppose to eat it since it was "diet only" food

Maybe this is a silly question but do you like V-8? Or tomato juice. Campbells came out with organic tomato juice with no sugar added.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
It may sound a bit disgusting but for the last two days I've been mashing mixed veg into a kind of mushy paste and taking a spoonful of it with a mouthful of chicken or fish! Takes me a while to chew and get down but it tastes a hell of a lot better, and hey if there that important which ever way works right?
