is protein shakes ok for kids?

I have a son, he is 3 years old and he tried a little of protein shake and liked it. I wonder if is ok for him to drink some? than you.

As much as kids grow, if he eats other things - I don't see a problem with it - make sure there isn't other stuff add to it to make it bad for him. Besides I'm sure it is better than the coke cola & pespi that alot of kids drink

If he's sipping on it there should be no problems (maybe a little extra slippery bowl movements), but be careful if you are planning on making it part of his diet...Some protien supps have many additives that can harm your child. If I were you, I would ask a pediatrician first to see if there are safe products available for children @ 3. Please check with a doc first, especially when asking about your child's nutrition and health. A little probably won't hurt him.

Also if it has Aspartame....don't make it a habit.
I don't want to get into the discussion about aspartame, but not good for kiddies, or adults.

This is excellent advice. One thing to think about, some proteins have very high lactose amounts, especially more inferior ones. I would not make a practice of giving it to him at 3 yrs. old.
