Now guys this one is for the LADIES only!!!
Girls I want to hear about your new goals.

My future goals/plans:
-I want to add at least 10kgs/13lbs more to my bench press
-I want to be able to do REAL standing push ups
-To do at least 10 wide hand pull ups in one row (I can only do 4!)
-Keep on shaping my legs and
-start swimming since I want to participate in a small Triathlon in April/May 2004

I got a small fitness competition in April 04 but I'm not sure if I'll have something else before that.

What else? Oh I'll start the courses becoming a fireman (woman!) in January so that will be quite physically as well.

Now professionally I got A LOT OF plans as well, and I just hope I'll have enough time to do it all!

What about you?!!!

wow philia, this is a fun one!
let's see...

-i want to be able to bench my weight. as of now that's 175, and my single rep max is 125. yikes!
-i want to lower my body fat percentage another 3 points by january. (to around 12%)
-keep training for the 1/2 marathon i'm running in december.
and last but not least...
-i want to finish my ab program strong and have some ripped stomach muscles!

i've got to accomplish most of this before january because i graduate from college in december and i'm going to have to find another gym:(

i've been thinking about going to fire school if getting into law school doesn't work out for me. i'd want to work in colorado and fight forest fires. it's an awesome profession.

anyway, those are my goals for now. i basically just want to keep getting stronger and more ripped!

great topic philia!!

Now you'll never ber able to build up a lot of strength (and push 175lbs) with 12% of body fat. Why do you want to get that low?
I keep my body fat around 14-16%
That way I can still work hard in the gym and fit in my pants... (o;

Short term goals:
Continue trying to get through weekends without slipping off my eating plan. Up the cardio. Get my presses over the 100# mark (I'm at 85# on incline and 95# flat right now). Lose 5 more # and fit into a 14.
Long term goals:
Get my bodyfat to 20%, weight to 163 and fit into a 12 comfortably. Have arms I'm proud to show in public!!!!

Future Goals
1: I HAVE to see my abs - Oct was my original goal, but I think I may have to adjust for a Xmas showing
2: Leg shaping - bump up my machine calf raises from 305 x 10 reps to 350 x 10 reps by Jan 2004
3: Body fat down to 17% by June 2004
4: Increase glutes, although I am unsure how to measure progress on this one!
5: Much more ripped in appearance! (sure is nice once you see progress - it is sooo addicting to become even more so!)

Hey ladies, I would like to continue my eating regime on the weekends too. There was a time that I would slip up tremendously and now I've gotten it under control. I feel pretty good about that actually and want to maintain it in order to lose about 5-7lbs. Thanks for listening.

I am (finances permitting) competing in my first fitness contest on November 8. I am currently 5'3", 115 lbs and around 10% bodyfat. Nina, don't give me trouble, I can't keep fat on regardless of what I eat, but I keep gaining strength and muscle, so it must be okay for me. By the end of Sept. I plan to have all my splits back to the floor. I will do one handed push-ups in my routine in Nov. I will be at Canadian Fitness Nationals within 5 years. I will bench press my bodyweight by 2004. I will gain 5 pounds of muscle by my birthday in June. I will continue to value my body and take care of it everyday.

well, having a lower body fat% helps me with my running. plus, i've increased my strength quite a bit since i've lost most of my fat.
i've added 30lbs to my bench since going from 24% to 15% and dropped my mile time from 8:04 to 7:14, so i figure if i can drop a little more i can still make good gains.
i really see the benching my weight as a long term goal. it would be quite a task to add 50lbs to my bench in 4 months!

Hi Howdiekat.
Well you're right and you're wrong.
Loosing body fat from 24 to 15% will definitely help you in reaching your goals (especially in speed) but it's different now. At 15% your body is already slim so it'll try to keep on to the last body fat. Now forcing it to loose another 3% will risk to weaken you and not the contrary (ask any competitor if they are looking for building up any strength while dieting down!)
