I am really trying to keep a close eye on what is going in my body now, but I am confused. I am trying to lose weight, and I had heard to stay under 1000 calories a day and then I signed up here and it told me to keep under 2300 a day. This is a wide range and I just want to know what to stay under in order to lose weight. Since I have been watching what I am eating (carbs, fat, calories, sugar, etc...), I am barely getting 900 calories a day if that. I want to stay healthy but I really want to lose. Any advice? Thank you.

Nope not wrong that is too low even more so if you are working out. That low will destroy muscle and keep fat. So I would try to add at least 800 to what you are eating and see what happens.

If you stay at 900 that will cause you complications. Go by mutts or the 2300, also depends on how active you are. Shoot for lots of protien in the diet, 4 calories per gram fat is 9 calories.

A good simple starting place for just maintenance calories is between 10-15 cal. per lb. of bodyweight. You may use this as a strting point. Do this for 2 weeks, see where you are at. It will take 2 weeks probably for your body to adjust anyway. If you are losing and feel fine, leave there. If you gain any at all, you may want to lower some. Or if you are staying the same, you can adjust either way, because this is your "maintenance" weight. Beware though if you have gone up just a little with your current workout. You may have gained muscle, and it weighs more than fat. Good luck.

If you sign up for the nutrition program and the goals you'd like to achieve it will give you your daily calorie intake as well, but as for me, 1800 -2000 calories daily seems to hit the spot!!
