Ok I have a favor to request. I have been thinking about setting up a little gym in my basement. It just makes sense with the baby and all. Here is my problem. I need a multi purpose bench with squat rack. I DO NOT want a smith style machine, except fpr maybe the bench press. I do want to use free weights. I know that I can find something like it for around 300$. But, it has to be less than 83 inches tall, and I would like a lat pull down to go with it. Anythoughts?

The ceiling in my basement is pretty low and the lat attachment is scraping the ceiling, but I'm guesstimating that my ceiling is about 72 - 80" high. I got my equipment (squat rack with lat attachment and bench) from a local Sportmart and paid around 400 dollars (including an Olympic barbell set and an ez-curl bar).

this is what I bought with some money this summer. I also added the lat puldown that goes with it. about $360
Lumina's is cheaper but I had no choice with the little selection I have in MONTANA.

I bought mine for about 300dollars, 300lb. olympic weights and bar, ez-curl bar, and gym grade bench with incline and lat/pulley attachment.I bought it probably 15 years ago with my income tax money...(I was poor then...LOL). I belong to a gym of course, but on icy, snowy days or such, when it was too bad to go to the gym, it has been a godsend. A great investment, and it will never go bad! (It is a pain if you move alot though. I have moved 3 times since I bought mine, and well, not much fun.

I have a cage-style gym at home complete with pullup station, lat pulldowns, cable rows, awesome incline/decline bench, and Olympic weight set. Its made by 'Body Solid'. It has a lifetime warranty so when I get done beating the crap out of it I can get a new one. Its a very well made setup. I'm sure there some sort of website for Body Solid equipment.
