I have some people who are arguing and they agreed to go with the consensus of the experts here on FT...Can a woman put on 2 lbs of muscle in 4 weeks, can she put on 4 pounds? Someone is saying it takes 3-6 months to put on one full pound of muscle. They are making me crazy...please help!!

I don't know how much muscle mass a woman can put on, but i've put on more muscle in 10 weeks than I thought was possible. I think a lot of it depends on your determination.

It depends on your genes, really how eaisly your body allows you to put it on. I think that the right woman could do it with the right eating and lifting

I would agree with mutt. If the formulas are there it will happen accordingly. Every body is different male or female.

If you are totally new (or on juice of course) to weight training then YES (but most of it will still be water etc IN the muscles...)
If use to weight training etc then no (unfortunately!!). 4 weeks (normally!!!) wont be enough for us.

It depends on a lot of factors. One major one is what stage of training you're in. If you're brand new to weight training and you're eating right, I think it's feasible in 4 weeks, but it'll be tough for a female. Muscle mass just doesn't come as quickly in women. I don't think it would take a full 3 months either, unless you're very advanced in your training and are close to a plateau. So the answer is a resounding maybe.

Probably the thing that separates gainers from non gainers is intensity! The more intense you are with your workouts and DIET, the more chance you have to gain over someone who approaches quite lackadaisical, or just not all out effort. Results are proportional to effort in. More effort in results in more results out! Good luck.

I dont think you can ever get a correct answer to that one. Why would it matter anyway? If your in a hurry to build muscle you are going to be very disappointed.
