This will be where I post the results every 2 weeks.

here, again, is the list of measurements you need to send in.

Let's keep the measurements to the nearest 1/4 inch for simplicity.

(your stats will be only seen by me, when I publish results it will just list pounds lost and percentage of weight, and inches lost. Only inches from this set of measurements will be counted, measure other bodyparts if you want, but the sites I list will be the ones we go by):

Weight (weigh yourself first thing in the morning if possible)

Chest - Over (for women, around bust, largest area, for men at nipple height)

Chest - Under (for women where bra would go around and men - around under pecs)

Biceps - Both Left and Right(hands on hips, measure halfway between elbow and shoulder)

Waist - (bellybutton, or where you wear your pants, unless they are lowriders) Just be surwe to neasure the same place each time.

Hips - (widest part, when viewed from the side, really your butt, too)

Thighs - both Left and Right(largest area, a few inches below hip/butt, you know, where those saddlebags hang out:surprised )

Calves- Both Left and Right(in the pasture no, seriously...at the thickest part, usually about 2-3 inches below knee)

Stats will be due on these dates :

April 1st to be in the challenge (well, okay, we will take late comers, but you will be behind the pack:))

April 28th

May 12th

May 26th

June 9th

June 23rd

Good luck to all of the competitors!!!!

Okay - this is everyone I have received stats for so far - anyone wanting to continue this challenge needs to get stats in.

A note about stats - you will all see your inches go up in some areas and down in others, things will even out. You should be feeling firmer and like you have more energy. Your weight will not always reflect the results that are going on in your body - stick with it!

Angie
+3.5 inches
+5 lbs

As I mentioned - down in some areas but up in others, so it looks like she gained inches, but really she is firming up. You are doing great, Angie - keep it up!

CCSpicy
+ 1 lb

A week behind - don?t sweat it, it will drop eventually.

Fay
-2 inches
-2 lbs

Excellent - currently in the lead J

KC
-1.74 Inches
-1 lb

Nice job - even with all the computer problems you are kicking butt!

Soterion
+1.75 In
-1.5 lbs

Really nice - keep it up!

Christina
-5 lbs
Others balance out to 0

You are leading in the pounds department - keep up the good work!

AAAAGGGGGHHHH! OK, I've just done my stats,as I'll be away from the computer tomorrow, and I've gained 4lbs and over 10 inches. Desperately need advice...and lots of TLC :(

I'll just give a quick run down of my meals and exercise for the week so that you can tell me where I'm going wrong...

Meal 1 - oatmeal (made with water and splenda), protein shake (made with skimmed milk)
Meal 2 - handful of almonds and an apple
Meal 3 - quinoa, chicken or tuna and salad
Meal 4 - cottage cheese and chopped apple or protein bar
Meal 5 - chicken or white fish with veggies, brown rice or bodybuilder pancakes
Meal 6 - protein shake (made with water and frozen fruit)

Exercise
Monday - 1hr dance class
Tuesday - weight program (from challenge)
Wednesday - 20-30min jog
Thursday - weight program
Friday - REST
Saturday - 1hr Khai-bo class and 1hr dance class
Sunday - 20-30min jog

Good? Bad? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I dont want to keep gaining!

Fay _ I would drop the fruit from your last meal and try dropping the rice or bb pancke from your 5th meal for 2 days , then have it on the 3rd day, then 2 days just veggies.

What is your caloric intake?

Thanks - will try that:)

I'm aiming for 1700 cals per day, but usually come in just under that on most days. Could I not be eating enough? or is that just wishful thinking:big_smile:

Have you estimated your active metaboic rate? This is your basal metabolic rate plus any expenditures due to daily activities...then you can create a 15-20% deficit from the total. The other thing we might comsider is rotating your calories - you stagger your weekly caloric allowance by eating a little more one day, a little less the next.

We will figure it out.

Thank you so much - I'll try and work out my metabolic rate and see if the calories match up.

I'm very determined to lose weight and I'm not giving up:angry:

Ok, just looked at my BMR - which is 1450. With my activity, which I estimated to be moderate (rather than heavy), my maintaining expenditure is 2200cals.

Creating a 15-20% deficit, I should therefore be aiming for between 1980 and 1760cals per day. If this is right, I am definately not eating enough!

I promise to post stats later today :) We have been working out some glitches with the spreadsheet (one of the glitches is my being a total luddite, lol).

Faye - if you increase, increase gradually. Are you using the WSSC ratios for your eating plan?

We've done a great job so far...congrats to all of us :) I was so freakin happy yesterday - I'm starting to notice the firmness in my quads & buns when I did lunges. So then while I was doing roman twists, I overheard a girl (who kept staring at me) commenting to her boyfriend "Wow, she looks good...I wanna look like that" - that was the ultimate compliment!
