What motivates me is I have some pictures on my computer from when I was like 6% body fat from before I got married. I found those pics in Febuary of this year and decided to get my but back to the gym. So I keep those pics on my desktop of my computer so it reminds me to keep it going and to look like that again.

I'm addicted to the workout. Plus I don't want to go back to being 135lbs at 5'8". I'm happy with 180lbs with low bf. My motivation is much the same as jonathan's. Keep up the good work jonathan! You'll be turning heads before you know it! Oh, and I'm a programmer too (Software Engineer).

what motivates me? I'm a twisted little cupcake so, the thing that motivates me the most is to get back at my huge butt which taunts me every morning..juggling and dimpled like so. That and the fact that I want that little black dress to be exactly that when i paint the town red again. weeeeee

The desire to have larger muscles. (That's for me. I'm not trying to imperically answer your question.)

I want to take off my shirt at the pool, park, bike ride, gym locker room, etc and have the guys say, "Damn!" and the women say, "Mmmmmm, nice..."

I want to know that when my son claims his dad is "the strongest guy", the other kids can look at me and think, "Crap! And my dad's just a skrawny, little programmer!" (I'm currently a skrawny, little programer.)

Being 47 with two yr old Twin boys. I would like to have alot of fun with them as they grow and they have all ready shown me that if I'm going to keep up with them I had better be in great shape. I find that ti is very hard to run in two different directions at the same time, so I have to be able to pick up one and run after the other.

I will get to it as soon as I am done lifting.

Wow! 47 and 2 yr old twin boys! I wish you well.

It's very likely that I'll be a grandparent well before I'm 47. But I want to be able to chase my grandkids around when I get there.

That's a GREAT motivator!

i don't know anymore. i've been going for so long that i just don't feel right when i miss a workout. I have nothing to motivate me :(. I don't need to be working out, especially at my age, even though the results are good. I would rather just not care and eats lots of "bad" food. but then I would have to pick right up where I left off in about 10-15yr from now. I figure i'll just keep going what I started.

My motivation is to not look like I used to look. LOL 5'10" and 243lbs = not very attractive. Plus I think its kinda addicting. May be the endorphins or something, lol.

I started because I went to the Garlic Festival with a woman my age, who ate her way thru the park, then huffed and puffed her way back to the car, where she complained the whole way home. I realized, very strongly at that point that I had to take control of my health....

The other motivator is the feeling I get when I can carry cat litter around the supermarket without getting winded, and people look at me amazed. I like knowing I am strong, inside and out.

Working out ensures that I eat correctly and with my illness that is a must. I also have more energy and feel better physically and mentally when I work out, getting a nicer bod out of the deal is just a bennie :)

WHAT A FABULOUS QUESTION! Now how do i answer it :o/

I think its my wife that motivates me. The reason being is I've been working out for a few months now and I'm really beginning to see some good results. The better my body gets.......the more she notices.....and notices some more :O)
She has really turned my life around and I want to be the best me I can for her.

Ever since I moved to a new apartment, I've been trying to get motivated to work out. We have a workout room in the complex. Recently, a girl started working out at the same time as myself (6am). We started chatting and turns out we went to the same college, and are in a similar point in life. So we kinda motivate each other now. (No, it's nothing like that -- we're just acquaintances!) :)

That's what made me appreciate this website when I found it recently. There's great power in PEOPLE. We're all in the same boat; we're all getting older, doing our thing in life (whether family, career, etc) and going to die someday. It's just a matter of how we get from here to there.

So what motivates me is this fact: I am not alone.
