I was told to weight yourself the same time of the day for the most accruate scale reading. I weight myself in the morning and get a consistant number. However. if I weight myself in the late afternoon I also get a consistant number. But my weight is very diffrent at those time, almost 6-7 pounds more. Why is that?:)

i weighed myself a few days in a row right before i went to bed and first thing in the morning (i do mean first thing...no pit stops first:laugh:) and i was always heavier by a few pounds at night. to me this makes no sense. i do realize that we burn hundreds of calories while we sleep, but i also know that i wake up to dry sheets, so where is the extra weight going? maybe i sleep walk.

I am not sure about this but I have been theorizing that a lot of wieght is lost through respiration. There were experiments done some time ago on plants to determine where they got thier mass. At that time it was discovered that they developed a majority of thier mass through respiration by incorporating the carbon that they where breathing into the structure of the plant. Therefore, if that is how they get thier building blocks, and our respiration process is the opposite, I think we may lose our weight through our respiration. When the body breaks down sugars (or fuel period) is is a process of turning organic structures into CO2 and H2O. The CO2 is then ventilated out of the blood int he lungs as well as some of the H2O. thus a wieght loss in the morning. That being said, you still have sensible loss through the skin in sweat, just not enough to soak the sheets.

That is my theory anyway. I could be way off, but it sounds good.
