Nope wish i could find mine, its like one step forward one step back with me. only thing that makes me motivated slightly is keeping my end up in netball cause if i slack off the whole team loses.

Structure, order and discipline for me. Helps me stay in control of other aspects of my life if I have a routine. Plus the benefit of beating last weeks lift is a great feeling! I could go on all day, and there is the obvious benefit of aesthetics.

Im just tired of seeing people six pack abs on tv. If they can have it then i can too.. Im going to do everything it takes to have that abs..Unfit people tend to get shy on beach, so my goal is to have the opposite feeling...

3-4 months here i come... Ill get you six pack..

and i tend to curse a lot when im working out, just to lift my determination that i can do it.. like hell yeah

I usually have to look ahead to something coming up that I want to look my best for. Which means I should be super motivated right now for my wedding in 7 months!

Looking good naked...the ultimate goal. Seeing the changes I've made in the last year makes me realize how much control I have over shaping my body and motivates me to take it in new directions. There is that flab on my stomach that keeps me from being able to wear a bikini and I don't want to let it win. I have no particular place to wear a bikini, but it's the principle!

Japanese olympic gold medalist Ichiguchi was giving a seminar for high school wrestlers. He was describing his training routine...

"I get up in the morning around six to run for about an hour. Later in the day, I lift with a partner. Following my lifting sessions, I usually do speed and agility drills. Later, I drill all my holds and moves."

A young wrestler in the crowd called a question out loud:
'Isnt that lifestyle boring?'

Ichiguchi just smiled and said,
"Yes, but the gold medal is very shiny."

I train to win. Bottom line. Yes, it's about constantly beating MY OWN numbers, but at the same time, I train to compete, and I compete to win.

A lot of times this means pushing myself through pain during my workout (tendonosis, a damaged ulnar nerve, and I'm long overdue for hip surgery). Some times it means doing an extra set when I'm tired. Occasionally I lose focus, and I just turn my music up louder, hit an ammonia cap, and force myself back into the zone.

But yes, the gold medal is very shiny.

My motivation is the completely false notion that if I can regain the body of my youth, that it will somehow rewind time and I go back there and start all over again.

Whatever works, right?

I just want to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible. At the beginning of 2006, I decided to start working out and riding my bike regularly, and watching what I eat.

All of a sudden i got sick and tired of being big/fat. So i said to my self, enough is enough, i am taking the control of this body. I was 310, then i dropped to 300, then i did some dieting and started walking and droped down to 370 in under 2 months. Then i decided to join a gym and now i am 265, my goal is to get to 220 by july. Nothing is stoping me now. I get alot of my motivation from heavy metal music.

I should add that my health is very important to me...when I'm 95 I want to still be able to enjoy life. My proudest achievement due to all the hard work I've done in the last couple of years is bringing my LDL levels down from 157 to 110 and my total cholesterol from 242 to 197. I even brought my HDL up from 70 to 74. I'm like a commercial stopping everyone I see, "I lowered my cholesterol!" I'm guessing this was due to a combination of working out hard and eating clean. But who knows, maybe it was the oatmeal!
