DURHAM -- Pierre Sabourin, a 486-pound Canadian entrepreneur who became disgruntled with the famed Rice Diet program and opened a competing weight-loss company in Durham’s Millennium Hotel, has left the building.
In fact Sabourin, 43, who also used the name Peter Sabourin, may have left the country and a trail of baffled employees, investors and weight-loss faithful facing thousands of dollars in potential losses.
Sabourin described himself as a venture capitalist and specialist in offshore investments when, some 18 months ago, he moved to Durham from Toronto and founded Durham’s newest weight-loss businesses. The first was Overweightpeople.com, an e-commerce Web site and store. Then, in January, with the help of Lori Claymont, of New York, he opened The Living Center, a residential diet facility at the hotel on Campus Walk Drive.

OK <sigh> I'll try to work this around to how this makes since to this site, but I have never heard of the gentleman....Did he open up several bad/good health businesses and flee? Is that what this post is about? What impacts did this gentleman have on fitness besides showing bad business etiquette?

I was wondering the same thing. Glad to know I wasn't just having a blonde moment. :) Carblo, I mean absolutely no offense at all, but I don't think I've seen you post anything other than copy and paste "news", "advertising", or "marketing" stuff? Are you simply trying to sell us the product/site you reference so often? If all of your posts are sales pitches, I'd prefer to be told that up front instead of having it come across as a back handed sneaky way. Just my personal 2cents.

I would like to ask the FT membership to just ignore her for the time being. The more you repsond, the more she realizes people are reading her posts.
Thanks.
