Any suggestions I cycle, swim, skip, run, walk. The reason I am endevoring a new dual fighting system that really takes it out of you. You start sparring, grab, takedown, then graple until you get a submission or give in. A match is two, two minute rounds. Some comps. you can go through as many as 5 matches. Hens your conditioning is critical. Any ideas are welcome

Hmmmmm interval training is the only way you can push your aerobic/anaerobic limit. HIIT is the answer. Good luck!!

Thanks Philia2, I was afraid that would be the answer as I dont go to a gym I have been looking at joining one probably the Y, But all the gyms in my area do not have the hiit availible. Any suggestion that I can do on my own. Is it just a point of getting heart rate up higher for longer peroids of time?

Oh you don't need a gym to do HIIT, just go out running!!!!! (read the article in here at FT)
It's NOT the fact of keeping the heart rate high, but to keep it HIGH and LOW!!!

Yep, you definately don't need to take a HIIT training class or anything. Back when I ran track and field, we used to do all sorts of interval training. Everyone's got their own style. Some people will go high (80-90%) for 30 seconds and then easy (30-40%) for 30 seconds. Personally, I liked the way Coach taught. We'd go out to the track and run a 400m fast (about 75-80%) and then jog (more of a shuffle actually) another 400m (quarter mile). That was one 'set.' We'd do 6-12 'sets' in a day. Mix the interval training with steady state in the same week and you get great results in both speed and endurance.

Thanks once again Nina I found the article, I thought this was a special machine. And in fact it is just too simple.

Any local high school track or even the the steps in the grandstands will do fine. Sprint 40 yds., paced walk 30 yds..Sprint 50 yds., fast walk 40 yds., etc. Or the steps are also great, run up one set, jog down the next. 20 minutes of this and STAMINA!
