Look at the percentage of protein contained in a scoop, you want a percentage of at least 81% otherwise you are wasting your hard earned $$, and also what variety.

I can vouch for the Walmart brand Body fortress. 120 calories a scoop, 26 grams of protein(102 of the 120 calories). It also contains a little creatine and bcaa's, not that they are as important as the protien itself.

I've always had good result with the basic Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey protein.. one of the few that taste great, don't upset my stomach and actually give me the protein requirements I need.

I agree. If you're looking for a good inexpensive protein, go with the body fortress stuff. If you want to make it taste better, and give it more substance, grind up some oats in a coffe grinder and add them to the shake!

I always liked mine with peanut butter.. I haven't used whey in about 2 years... I have been just mixing eggs, bananas, milk and a little instant coffee.. I am a banana eating freak..

You guys got me back into whey! I haven't used it in at least 2 years and I bought a jug this past weekend. Vanilla, but I will mix it with blueberries strawberries that froze from summer and skim milk. Looking forward to this after my work out tonite.

Thanks Dave! I'm going to be competing in my first competition in May. The 2010 NANBF Natural Mr. Minnesota. I'm cutting down from about 270 at 5'10"...right at about 235 now. I don't post on here a whole lot anymore, but this site helped me a LOT when I was starting out.

As for the drummies...they say legs win shows, so I hope mine are good enough to do that for me
