Hello all, My question to you is have i set an unrealistic goal, and am i going about accomplishing it in the wrong way?

My goal is to 'look good' for spring break :) i want to be tone (not a monster like on some fitness mags) and have a sixpack. First a little about myself.
I am 19, about 6 feet tall, and weigh about 180. I have been lifting since the begining of the school year 3 days aweek. I am in no way fat, but i need to do alot of work to get a sixpack. I have read that in order to have your abs show, your flesh over your abs must be no thicker than the flesh over your wrist... idk if this is true or not, but ill assume it is. If i flex my abs and stick my pinky into the flab, id say there is about 1/4 of an inch there. MY QUESTION IS, is it unrealistic to have the ab results i am looking for by spring break (march 22) or even by summer?

It has been mentioned on this board many times that you cannot spot reduce fat, and teh best way to abs is in the kitchen, so thats what ive done... but have i done it correcly?

My focus is to cut calories. I am doing my best to keep it below 2000. I have completly cut off my junk food (maybe ill have a cookie but thats it) and ive stoped drinking pop (soda for you non ohioians). After realizing that a single can is 120 calories, and i was drinking maybe 5 a day, i figured that was alot. If i get hungry ill stick with those 'negitive calorie' foods (apples, carrots...)

Ive kept it up for about 2 weeks, and i have already begun to see results, i dropped weight from 180 to 171 and i look like im starting to get thinner. Hopefully im not losing muscle, i can still lift the weight i normally do, and i dont feel fagtuged or hungry.

what do you think?

I think you are doing a great job, and no I don't think that your goal is unrealistic.
You train and eat healthy, why not include some HIIT and you'll get the wanted results. Good luck!

It is definitely not unrealistic. You sound like you are on the right track. Be sure to train your entire body as much as you train your abs. :-)

May the lift be with you.
