I had a huge family trauma and now that I am free of it I still have emotional pain. I want to lose weight but I just don't have any energy. I go to school and go to work. Then I come home at 6pm. I plan to exercise but I just feel lightheaded, dizzy, mean, weak, tired and sleepy. I need help. Currently I am 185Ibs and 5ft 9. I want to get leaner and get to at least 150Ibs. I have a deadline.. May 15th to at least look fit and lean. Please help. I tried to use Hydroxycut but then I stopped today so that may of caused some dependency or something.. I dunno. Now I am going to just try to do it all on my own. But I need help on starting and to keep going. I don't know how to overcome this tiredness. Help!

I may be wrong here, but wouldn't just getting up and doing it help? I'm not an expert at this, but to me that would help... once you're at it, it won't be so bad... I know it's easy to say...

You have your goal in mind... so that's a start... I ask myself how would I feel if by my deadline I realized I stopped when I could have kept going?

Motivation is a hard thing, but ya just gotta do it...

Usually when you get into the workout your body wakes up and when you consistantly do it, you usually have more energy.

I've been where you are..I personally realized (with help from this site) that my nutritian was horrible. I am amazed at how much better I feel and I know it has to be the nutritian plan. I have only been at this site for under 2 weeks and I am already feeling better.

Also, maybe getting with your Dr. for something like Zoloft (an anti-depressant) My mother past away recently and Zoloft helped me deal with it. It was very traumatic to me because of the circumstances with her death and I was extrememly depressed. I only had to take it for about 6 months and I was able to get my emotions back on track. I was still tired though..

So take a good look at your diet, check with your Dr. and go with what the other posters said, I remember reading on the Oprah site before I came here and her words are "Get Moving!" I say that to myself everyday!!!!

Good luck to you and I sincerely hope you feel better

on the days that I dont really feel like going to the gym and feel like watching tv or sleeping instead.....I have found that if I start putting on my workout clothes and not really thinking about what I am doing or going that helps motivate me to get in there.....once I am there and still feel BLAH I tell myself ok I am going to go this for 10 mins if I still want to leave after I can but almost always I end up staying because it makes me feel better.

How long did you use hydroxicut?? You may be going through a mild withdrawal. If so it will pass in a few days. If your diet is good and you get enough rest and still have these symtoms, you may need a doctors help. Depression can cause all the symtoms you are having and so can physical causes.

Charlie if that doesnt work you can send the buffalo to push her along! But any way depression sounds like it might be the case following emotional trauma.

Only I will remain

Are you getting enough sleep?

There are days when I have a bunch of excuses for not working out, but I always ignore them. In the end, I have a good workout and am glad I did it. One good thing is that if something's bothering you, this at least focuses your mind on something else for an hour or so.

Zoloft and related drugs are known for bad side effects in terms of both sleep and weight gain. It may help you mentally, but it will also give you a new set of problems to deal with, that in term harm you mentally. The question you'd need to ask then would be: is the cure worse than the disease?

sorry to hear about your trauma you've recently experienced, I can probably speak for all in saying a lot of us know how you feel, down in the dumps and can't seem to get back up. A combination of all, nutrition, exercise and rest will help you recover best. Add a good multivitamin and you should be good to go but the biggest thing that is going to help you sweetie is self motivation. We can give you all the necessary steps, suggestions, etc, but unless you take that first step and keep on going yourself, it can all be of no hlep. I do hope you feel better and remember we are here to support you and help you get back on your feet.

Good advice from everyone.

Ease yourself into a program, start with walking, get some sunshine daily.
If you can't shake the fatigue, seek counseling and see your doctor for a physical - it may be you need some help working through things.

Good luck!

If you fall down seven times, get up eight times.
