Supplements can be a great aid with your health and fitness goals. Combined with the proper exercise and nutritional plan they can be quite effective.

Is it true that thermogenics only burn fat if you work out?
If you take them and then just sit, they do nothing?

For the most part people that take fat burners of any kind and just sit there don't work.

Remember, supplements only help...you have to do the work! The same reasoning applies to bodybuilding. If you drink lots of protein powders, but don't lift weights, what do you think will happen?

There are no magic pills that you can take to lose weight or gain muscle overnight. It takes dedication, hard work and lots of patience to obtain that physique you want. Before resorting to thermogenics, give cardio and a good diet a chance first.

Good luck!

Listen Bretto, you want "fat burner" that works 24-hours a day and comes absolutely free? It's called lean mass. Lean mass is metabolically expensive. A pound of muscle requires more energy to maintain than a pound of fat. In other words, your body will burn more energy maintain muscle than fat. And burning excess energy is what it's all about. If you really want to rev up your fat burning potential without spending a buck, work for it in the gym. Resistance training is a great way to boost your thermogenic potential. As for regular fat burners, they might increase your thermogenic threshold nominally, but not enough to justify 30+ bucks.

Funny, I just had this convo with someone the other day. He said he wants to lose weight, and normally doesn't eat breakfast or lunch, but eats a huge dinner and then snacks through the night til bed time. He also thinks because he is a painter, his job is his workout. My boyfriend has this misconception as well. But I am slowly breaking him of that thought. Anyhoo...he thinks they will miraculously drop those unwanted pounds, and I just have to laugh at that..sorry. Funny, yesterday I saw this guy sucking on a lolipop..hysterical. Oh yeah, he also told me he has some form of liver disease. Scary.
I say, get your butt in the gym if you're going to take them, and eat a healthy balanced diet of 5-6 meals a day if you really want results. Trust me, you will have fun, feel better and laugh at the question too.

How does he expect to lose weight and not eat breakfast. People have a big misconception about not eating and losing weight. I guess before I really got into the fitness thing, I thought somewhere along lose lines, but I new you had to at least eat 3 a day and that still wasn't enough. You just got to guide I guess. Good luck with your boyfriend, FitLilAlien.

It's easy: If you don't eat enough you'll not be able to loose the last stubborn fat. Why? Because the body will protect itself from starvation.
Solution: Eat enough, eat often and eat healthy.
