I wrote about this a couple of times, but I am sure now that I am doing something wrong...
I am in the 8th week of my FT fat loss program. I lost 4 lbs first week, after that not a pound. I didn't miss one day, I run at least 20 minutes after weight training. on my off days I do 1 day yoga, 2 days 3 mile runs on the treadmill. I take off 1 or 2 days a week.
I am 5'3" and 132lbs. I started 136 lbs.
This is what I eat (today's meal as an example)
breakfast:
1 cup kelloggs smart start
1 cup soy milk
10:30 am
1 apple
12:00
1 cup pasta (with green lentils, tomato, kidney beans) I only added 1 tbl olive oil for the whole pasta package. 1 cup is almost 1/8 of package
1/4 of chicken breast. no fat added, cooked in tomato sauce
3:00 pm
3 strawberries...2 non-fat wheat crackers
5-7 pm workout - abs and arms
7:30
2 small portobella mushrooms and 1 cup collard cooked without oil. added 1/2 tbs olive oil before eating
1 cooked eggwhite
I cannot lose any weight. I don't fit my clothes better. (I have a measuring tape, no difference)
I will appreciate any tips/suggestions

Hi gbaser....I'm new here, but I'll tell you what they keep telling me: EAT MORE! I was eating more than you and have been told I am keeping my body in starvation mode, especially when working out regularly. I am curious to see what kind of comments you get, as I am still trying to get used to this idea....eat more to lose more?

Sometimes that is effective...eat more to lose. When you cut calories too much, the body essentially panics and slows metabolism and stores more fat, not allowing your intake to be used as much for energy. In other words, you starve yourself, your body stops trusting you. 5-7 small meals per day built around protein wins.

I also thought I might not be getting the protein I need... but when I try to add protein I go over my fat intake quota (20 grams) one 6 oz meat has at least 9-10 grams of fat I guess. or that is what fitday is telling me. even chicken breast has fat (according to fitday). I eat fish sometimes. today I ate turkey...
actually, I always have eaten very little, like this all my life. I never was a junk food person, I love chocolate and desserts but I never eat fried food eat. I cut the sweets and I am trying to eat more multigrain and more protein after I started exercisin. but I cannot balance out the fat intake when I try to add protein I guess... should I drink protein shakes? we have Smoothie King right across our gym, can I drink one of their high protein shakes? but that even has so much fat in it (I guess from almonds and stuff)...

I would forget about the fat thing for a while 9witin reason no need to eat lard or something), and get the meat in ya!
