Well, you guys probably think these are fairly small successes but I'm happy.

Firstly, I got my body fat measured again (by electrical impedance) and it has dropped from 28% to 25% in about a month and a half! And my muscle has increased by about a kilo and a half. This is since I started doing heavy weights, and eating more (including alot more protein), as well as doing my mad cardio exploits. I am thrilled. It still seems pretty high though. I know I've got some patches of fat left (2 large breasts for a start!) but it's nice to have achieved something measurable. I really notice it in my clothes now as well. What level BF is recommended for women? I did the calculation to work out my target weight if I was 20%BF, and I would have to get down to about 108 pounds!!! (currently about 119, 5ft 1"). I think I'll just have to build more muscle instead.

Secondly, I finished my first half marathon on sunday! 2hr05min. Not super-fast, but a great victory for me as I could hardly run for 2 minutes this time last year. Have been celebrating by eating alot! Mmm, chocolate chip cookies...

Just thought I'd share, to inspire everyone. Keep going- if I can do it, anyone can.

Kitten that sound great congrats on your successes, every success is just that a success small or large. By the way the 2 large breast part of you post dos'nt sound all that bad to me lol, but I might be looking at it a little differently lol. Congrats again

Your ideal bf% for your age group is between 20 and 24, but if you wanted to compete in fitness comps or something like that it would need to be lower.
Congrats on all of your successes! I have my first half-marathon coming up pretty soon and I think your time is great! Eat a few more cookies for me. =)

Congrats! Great to have both someone confirm your doing well and be able to see it too!

The half marathon is a great achevement too, 2 hours is very good, at that time i'd assume you were running all the way. I can do an hour on a bike but barely manage 15 mins running right now.

It must be frustrating for you ladies to see men quoting BF %'s lower than yours, having to remind yourself that you can't compare like for like figures.

Us men get the best of both worlds, we get to have lower BF %'s AND we get to enjoy the womans 2 bits of extra fat =)

Congradulations GymKitten. Sounds like you are doing well. You are not that far away from your ideal bf% so keep up the great work. Keep up the great work and maybe next time you can do the full marathon.
