I have two questions.
I saw a post which said you should lose fat from abs before doing crunches because it will make your stomache look bigger because you are building muscle under the fat. Is this true? Should I lose my fat around belly first before doing crunches etc...?
Now my next question:(IF it is okay for me to continue working my abs)
I started the 12 week ab program this week and it has me working my abs on wednesdays and fridays. Would it be okay for me to work abs more and if so, how much more. I have about 6 more inches to lose. I am eating healthier and I drink more than 8 glasses of cold water a day. I am doing hiit along with a personalized strength program from ft which includes push-ups, arm curls, homesquats etc..(I don't have weights yet)

First off, you cannot spot reduce.

Secondly, work abs like every other muscle in your body. You need to rest them just like you would your biceps, for instance. Adding one more day probably wouldn't hurt, just don't over-do it. Endless ab work will not give you a six pack. If I'm not mistaken, the 12 week ab program is killer, so only twice a week at this point might be plenty.

I always work my abs. Just a bit differently. When trying to gain, I may only work them once per week, but it is a good one. Many times twice per week.

When getting ready to get lean, like for a contest or even just low bodyfats, I go to 3 times per week.

While it is true that when gaining, ab muscles built under the fat will simply push out the fat a bit more, and make you look a tad bigger. But this is really relative, ab muscles are not that big, and really do not account for much. It is more the fat that causes the protrusion.

Do not be afraid to work abs at this time, it is hard to build any muscle, even abs while on a calorie deficit. Like trying to build biceps for instance when energy deficient...is this going to work?
