I am on the 12 week ab program, just starting first workout today. Can someone please tell me what a Seated Twist is the explanation is not doing it for me.Thanks

Sempai, what is happening?! OK, sit down with your legs out in front of you, look forward and keep your back straight. Grab a broom, or better yet a broom handle and put it behind your head and grasp each side with your hands, like carrying a yoke. Now, to the left, contracting, you should feel it in your obliques. Repeat this motion for the desired number of reps to each side. I hope that helps.

are your legs straight out or bent at the knees? the rest makes great sence thanks a lot.

I'm fine, it's too hot in Chicago though, and I am very hungry, I really must stop reading these posts before I make dinner! =)

It took me awhile with these before I could "feel" I was doing them correctly.

Ok thats what I wondered I did not feel much the first time around. But those leg lifts I sure felt them. And it hot here two 36 with humidex of 45 feels like there is no air to breath

Yes you have to feel the obliques working (otherwise you're just stretching yourself.....). If you do it correctly you shouldn't be able to do more than around 20.
When working your waist you have to block one part of the body..... (logical no? lol) In this case it's the lower part of your body. Yep, just sit down if you feel tired in your legs/buttocks.
