I have a very difficult time getting "sore". No matter what I do, I can never feel much the next day with my triceps or biceps. My legs will let me know they had a good workout, in fact I can tell somedays I over did it. My back will get pleasantly tender, so will my shoulders, but I can not do this with my biceps or triceps, and this is the area I would like most improvement to be in.
Any advice? I have had people "watch" me, to ensure I am lifting correctly, I am lifting heavy enough that I fatigue at about 10..........
any ideas?
Thanks!

You want to get sore? Take a month off, don't do anything, then come back to the gym and do max sets of 10X10 on everything for a week straight. Then you'll be sore...
Want to get results? Keep doing what you're doing. Being sore isn't always a sign of progress. In fact, I have done westside for almost a year, and am rarely sore, but am getting stronger almost every workout.
What kind of work are you doing for your upper body? Post an upper body day here...

if you've been doing the same routine for too long, your body may have adapted to the exercises. change the angles, order of exercises, even the exercises themselves. add supersets, drop sets, pyramids.. whatever it takes to stimulate growth.
are you pushing yourself hard enough?

You're sure right about taking time off. I had to stop for a couple of weeks and just got back to my upper body workout on Tuesday. I had forgotten just how sore my bi's and tri's could get! They're killing me...and sadly I am enjoying it!

I only get sore when doing triceps and running (knees). My triceps are sore for about 5 days, but well enough to train when the time comes. But on other exercises I can barely finish the last reps so I know I'm pushing myself but the soreness isn't coming.

I know. It's sad how truly sick some of us are. I love limping out of the bed after deadlift day.

my triceps/biceps are also hardest to get sore....
want soreness? lift slower....and squeeze at top....1-2 count up, pause 1-2 sec, 1-2 sec down one very rep...and I would use 6-8 reps....drop sets, forced reps, negatives are also very good....
also some of the best ways to train then is to do heavy compound exercises....rows/pull ups to train biceps....bench press(with closer grip)...or dips....for triceps....
I like training both together...they tend to stretch each other....making me less sore and able to lift a bit more...but you can train them in a variety of ways...
