do you get the same results from push ups when you do them on your knees instead of your feet

You work the same muscle either way. Of course the stress on the muscle is greater when on your feet. If you can only do 10 by doing them on your knees, it is a great place to start. Slowly build up and eventually you can do the full body push up.

Also when you get stronger then put up your feet on a bench (and your head down). Do some push ups that way as well and you'll get great results for your upper chest.

Good luck!

There are many other ways of trying to make push-ups harder besides putting your feet on a bench. You can put your hands closer together, farther apart, or past your head(difficult). If you get really strong you can try these things called chinese push-ups. You have to put your butt in the air, keeping your legs straight, and then do a push-up from that position.
