yea im sure he signed up to joke ;)

ricky, this is more of a suggestion. But if you're looking to be building some pecs you should maybe look into some different exercises :p

pushups will be ok at the start, but eventually they'll lose affect and you'll need some exercises that will put a little more strain onto you.

by burn, im not sure if you mean that pumped rushed feeling i get when ive finished lifting weights, or a painful burn.

if its a painful burn basically, id suggest doing some sort of warm up to get the blood pumping, stretches will help also. this should help assist stopping it if its a painful burn. Then again if you're doing (an exagirated) 500+ pushups every day, and you're not that strong, then your muscles are probably aching from the previous day before, and you're only pushing them into more 'burning pain' by doing more.

if its like, i have, a 'burning' (if you can call it that) rush then i can't see whats wrong with that :)

cneb summed it up except.
pushups with hands close together target you triceps more, and obviously with them further apart you target your chest more.
