I don't own ANY home equipment to work out with. My husband & I are starting the home fitness plan... and I told him that if we stick with it consistently for 1 month it should be time to buy a piece of equipment. I just don't want to be one of those people who spends a lot of money to watch something sit in the corner :)
So... if you could only have 1 piece of equipment at home for working out, what would you choose?? What is most beneficial to a fitness program?

You may want to start with dumbells and a bench. Relatively not expensive and easy to use.

Good advice. As you get more advanced and you TRULY WANT A HOME GYM a squat cage/rack and an adjustable bench are very nice. The reason I stress if you want a home gym is at least in my experience some people find a gym is needed. But if you want and like the access of a home gym that is my adivce.

Bands are a good starting point that are inexpensive.

free weights best thing ever for cheap but if you can afford it the bowflex is amazing for resistence training

Bow flex to me is like band training....I don't think in the long run its good for your joints...
I'd go with a power rack......and a adjustable bench. Some power racks even come with a lat tower.

free weights are better i think because power racks dont feel like the actual weights your doing

free weights also help with stabilizer muscles power racks dont and it doesnt allow as much movement and you have more variety and more freedom of movement with freeweights.
