You need to go balls to wall in the gym to see real muscle gains. I believe yes.

If you put your balls to the wall you may get tossed out lol!

Anyhow you must find your own threshold and go from there meaning how much your body can take and when to rest and recover.

In world war 2 the fighter planes had 2 sticks to control their plane. On the top of these 2 sticks were metal balls to stop the pilot's hands from slipping off. So, when the pilot was having to escape from enemies he would push the sticks forward as far as can go,and they would stop at the front wall of the plane. Thus the saying " Balls to the wall". I know thats not what you wanted to hear but I couldn't resist.

Just be regular in your routines, work with proper form and you will see results. It all starts with you.

You don't need to ''Go Balls To Walls Training '' to gain muscle , you need to train right , train hard and eat like a horse.:dumbbell:

You need to work to your capacity to see results, yes. But all out all the time will result in overtraining. proper rest and nutrition are just as important as time/intensity in the gym.

Sorry to be a pedant, you're almost right!
The balls were on the throttle, and a fully open throttle was pushed as far forward as it would go. That would be as far as the firewall. So, "balls to the wall" means absolutely flat out effort. (Now where does "flat out" come from?!).

I went BTTW when I started, could only manage it for 6 weeks or so and my plan just fell over. Listen to Amy.
