It's not so much a new years resolution as it is a get my life on track while my fiance is away at his military school. I was doing well and then met him and put on about 15 pounds in 4 months. I think that if I am doing better with the gym etc then he will not impact my eating and exercise. I lost my weight from cutting portion sizes and not snacking, but I don't think I was eating enough good foods. So the challenge will be to make my diet healthy. My fiance will eat healthy foods as he is in the military and needs to stay in shape, but he is also italian and he can eat a ton of pasta. I am learning to cook pasta from his father who insists that the world eat tons of food so I am working on that too. I want to lose some pounds, but I'm not going to really weigh myself. I know what I am starting off, and we'll see where I end up when I stop.

Hey blugrassplyer and bobosensei and happy holidays to you! I don't do new years resolutions but I am hoping the new year brings me better health now that I have joined the gym and am consistently working out again. Good luck to you both!-------------- Veda MISERY IS OPTIONAL ***When you are up to your ears in trouble, try using the part that is not submerged. ***The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan. :big_smile:great job making your 2004 resolution of losing 2 inches around the waist area.I am at 216lbs and lifting 4 days a wk. trying to get my arms up to 17 to 18 inch. they are between 16 and 17 now.Had cancer in the left arm and was unable to use arm for over a year.under went stem cell transplant and am doing great now but muscle in left arm deteriated but has come back thru extensive training.I worked as a trainer at a health studio many years ago and lifted off and on at various times over the years. Now I am back to training at 67 years of age. I started training about 4 monthes ago.I am just curious as to see if I can still make gains in muscle at this age. :) You are lookig good at your weight keep at it and trian hard.

HI bobosensei, I hear you when you say your fiance can eat a ton of pasta.I can live pretty good on that pasta myself.
It sounds like you are eating healthy, lots of carbs to keep the energy up.My sister was married to a Italian so I know how they like to cook and eat.Every thing with mushrooms. take care :) ============ blugrassplyr Quoting from bobosensei: It's not so much a new years resolution as it is a get my life on track while my fiance is away at his military school. Hello, nope, I'm not new, but it certainly is a great forum with wonderful tips and suggestions! Good luck with your goals, I had thyroid cancer and have had a long haul trying to refocus on getting back into shape, being positive and remembering that living is what I am here for!-------------- Veda MISERY IS OPTIONAL ***When you are up to your ears in trouble, try using the part that is not submerged. ***The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan.
