Ahhh, that famous question everyone wants to always know. Welcome to ft! My answer would be, maybe, if you had good genetics. Otherwise, you are better off gaining mass, then cutting to lose the fat.

Of course you can, that's the best way to loose weight.

It takes longer to get all the needed muscle mass but of course you can loose fat and gain some muscles in the same time.

Forget all about the bulking/cutting in the beginning, that's later on.

You can build and lose fat at the same time. It isn't easy but it can be done...a good training schedule and a strict meal plan and proper supplementation.

I have found this simulataneous process to take too long, and it may not even work for men! Think about it...in order for you to gain weight, you have to increase your caloric intake at the expense of some fat intake (even ft suggests this if you chose to gain mass). The only way for you to gain weight is to consume more calories than your body burns.

However, once you've gotten to the point that you're happy with the mass gains, you can begin to lose the excess fat by lowering your caloric intake and incorporating intensive aerobic activity. When you follow this process, it will take you less time than trying to do it simultaneously.

Anyway, it is your choice. We're only here to guide you so whatever you feel more comfortable with, go with that!

Good luck!

See, I just keep working, dieting, and doing cardio, it'll all come off eventually.

I would suggest following the 12 week mass program and eat clean, you will see great results. Also work in some cardio depending on how much your calorie intake is.
