I have gone from a size six to a size two. This is a little smaller than where I want to be. The biggest problem is that in the process I have lost my chest:( I was wondering if there is any good way to put weight back on and still look as lean as I do now. Plus, how do I get my chest back without putting fat everywhere that I don't want. Please Help!

Wow! For most women, that's a dream come true! Anyway, if you want to better define your chest, try inclined bench flyes. This better defines the pectoral muscles and helps to shape the upper chest area. I believe there was a recent post on this subject in the Female Discussion forum. Try using your search function.

As far as gaining more weight without the fat, you'll just have to increase your caloric intake without consuming a lot of saturated fat. You can also do some weight training to keep your body lean and to increase your metabolism.

Adrianne, please fill out your profile and tell us what your current exercise program consists of (if any). That way, we can provide you with better advice.

Good luck!

Robert,

I was doing the General Training progam that Freetrainers provides and working out four days a week. I got my weight down to 115, I am 5'4. I was happy at this weight, then I got a little depressed and could not eat. I also stopped going to the gym and my weight dropped to 104. I plan to start back to the gym. Have a bit of a cold now, so I will hold off for a little longer. I would just like to get back to the weight I was before and am scared my chest won't come back.

Thanks for the advice given, will try it! I don't really know if building the muscle underneath will make them look like they did, but I guess at this point I will try anything. Breast implants is not an option.

I will keep you posted!

Thanks,
Adrianne

I have a similar concern...I went from a size 9 to a 5...and I am happy here...but I did lose my chest...and other areas that I wish I had not....

I don't want to do too many chest exercises that will make me any smaller...
How tall are you? What do you weigh right now? I am
5'5 1/2" 124lbs.

let me know...

Hey Spanishgirl! I am 5'4 and I weigh 1041bs. I was at 115lbs but got a little depressed and could not eat. Now, I need to put some back on but still look lean. I agree with the chest exercises, don't really want to bulk up my chest that way. I just want them to look like they used to. Girls just can't win.

I'm dieting for competition and I'm afraid that I have no other option than loosing a bit of my breats as well.

The only way you can get back a nice chest is to put on weight. Only muscles will not look very nice.

Why can't we have our cake and eat it too!!! When you lose weight we lose the chest, unless your genetically gifted!!!
If you want to put some weight back on its easy. I lose 10 pounds of bodyfat prior to competition, after that I stayed a few pounds higher for 3 months. Then when I began lifting more and increasing my calories by 250 cal day the weight came back slowly. If you combime a good diet and weight training you should be able to get back to your desired weight and stay relatively lean. In order to get some chest back some weight gain must be bodyfat! If you want to stay ultra lean then say good by to "the way you were". Sad but true!!!! I know this from experience.

You can try eating just as healthy, but increase the amount of food you eat. to get your chest back you can start doing bench press....if u dont already.

Well this is a hard one since womens breast are fat. I was genetically gifted so I am thankful that I have lost a bit of weight in the chest. I wanted to get surgery but don't think that I will need it now. I don't think that there is much you can do to add fat back in your chest, especially if you still train. It is like losing weight, you can't do it in one specific area. If it is really a huge concern, you may try implants....... just a suggestion.

Well, last summer I ran about 6 days a week and ate a vegetarian diet and I couldn't keep weight on me, no matter what I ate. The only muscular thing on me were my legs, of course, but my tummy was super flat.

Well, I varied my runs. I would do longer runs on Sundays (anywhere from 5-9 miles), and during the week I would do speedwork one day, a hill workout on a treadmill one day, and other days I would run about 5 miles.

Try moving to indoors. I live in a third floor apartment on the side of the building that gets the evening sun. It's HOT and I still lift in it. Cardio is something else, but maybe there's a good video you can do indoors enjoying AC?
