Cortisol is the primary measure of stress, and cortisol is the exact opposite of what we want and will devour proteins(muscle). Stess will severely interfere with your ability to gain muscle and lose bodyfat. Stess cycle is also responsible for increasing appetite and creating cravings for junk food. Elevated stress levels aslo negatively affect energy levels, mood, immune system function and sex drive.
