loss of strength

hi all I have been working out for 1 year now, and I noticed I haven't seen any gains in the last few months,so I took off two weeks, and now that I just started working out again I have noticed a great amount of strength loss. Is this normal,I know a little is expected, but I have loss about 40 pounds on my bench press, and about 20 pounds on curls.Thanks for all replies.

Yes it is normal. It differs for each of us, but the nice thing is that the strength will come back and your progress will be jumped started. So hang in there!

It is normal to have an initial dropoff in strength after some time off. It will come back quickly and probably then some. The rest should have done you good. Nerve endings, ligaments, tendons all need to be rested at some point. Not just the muscles. They will have rested and strengthened, and you should see some nice gains forthcoming.

don't forget, the more u work out, the more u got to put into your work out to see results.

When you first start - u will likely see results fast - but after even 6 months, - u have to work twice as hard to get the same results u were getting just a few months before.
