if someone can help me out. I know this might sound a little stupid. but i just wanted to know can weight trainig and improper breathing affect my eyes in any way. I wear glasses and i was wondering that maybe working out too hard and not getting enough vitamins and minerals might make my vision worse. I read somehwere something about oxidation and even though i dont know what it is yet i read something about it having to do with the eyes as well. I was just wondering if i train intensly and not breath properly during the training or eat right for my training if this can in any way harm my eyes. Or does it have any affect on the eyes at all. Thank you.

I've never heard about weight training affecting your eyes in any ways.
You can feel dizzy or get nausau from lifting heavy (or doing HIIT) but make your vision worse, no.

If your body is in lack of vitamines, then it'll affect your whole body and not only your eyes. Take a vit pill daily and see if that helps.

I don't think so. I wear glasses and it hasn't effected my vision any.

probably not with an average workout program, like what's available here at FT. and if its due to a vitamin deficency, its correctable and temporary. now with powerlifting and/or olympic lifting, it was not totally unheard of for some guys to have some temp vision problems immediately after a comp due to all of the ruptured blood vessels in the eyes after the lifts. this, of course, was right along with the vomiting and the bloody gums.

bloody gums? Why the gums? I'm actually very curious about that because I just got my wisdom teeth taken out and wasn't sure when I should start lifting again...

lumina,
You can lift about a week later. Wait 2-3 weeks before lifting heavy. You are the best judge for this.
You do not want all the blood to rush to your head and looooose the blood clot that is forming right now.
You lose the blood clot and you will have a big oweee (dry socket).

hmmm bleeding gums. Normally it is due to a lack of mouth hygiene. ie flossing and brushing.

bleeding gums when lifting probably is due to pushing your body beyond its limits. Blood pressure rises, fluid volume increases, adrenaline surge and if the body cannot compensate for this it goes out of the body. ruptured vessels, vomiting and bloody gums.

Well, yes it has been 4 days, each day I keep feeling better. My right side seems to be healing slower than the left, but I am very antsy and want to workout, but I also don't want a dry socket, so I will wait until Thursday. I'm going to try to get back to eating right tomorrow; my diet has consisted of mostly foods I can slurp off of a spoon.
