Went in to have an annual exam done, and the scale they had wasn't digital, and the nurse had me get off of it before I could actually read the number, but it appeared to me to be in the low 240's. At the end of my visit I told the doctor that I have been working out and trying very hard to lose weight, and told her I started at 254lbs. She looked at my chart, and told me that I was doing a good job because I was at 242lbs. That's a 12lb loss in 5 weeks. That's very exciting! I am not noticing a huge change in how clothes fit yet, but I do have a jacket that is much easier to zip up than it was 3 weeks ago. I am just excited, and I wanted to share my success to help keep everyone motivated to stick with it!! This is the longest I have ever maintained a program, and the first time I have ever lost weight! Keep working, and you will see results!!! XOXOXO

Way to go!-------------- I ran outta gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from outta town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts. It wasn't my fault!! I swear to God!! |

What is your diet and exercise routine like. I have been trying for a few weeks and haven't lost any weight, while my clothes are fitting better, the weight is standing still.

Well, the diet hasn't been good due to extrenuating circumstances, but that is changing at this time. I had only been doing 2-3 days of cardio. I did it first thing in the morning for 30 minutes. I did something like HIIT, 2 minutes slower, 2 minutes faster until the 30 minutes is up. I have now added in weights to my workouts 2 days a week, and I will get weighed next week or the week after, and we will see how it goes.
One thing to note, I have a LOT of weight to lose, and I am not sure if my body fat % has gone down, which is the part you should be most concerned about IMO. |

I have alot to lose too. I was 252 in August of 2004. I am now at 223. So I have lost it is just getting me a little frustrated that I am eating so much better than I used to and exercising, you would think it would be melting off. I know I know muscle weighs more than fat and I am able to lift more than when I started. I was only using 2.5 weights for biceps and side laterals, now I am up to 10lbs for biceps and 5 lbs. for side laterals. (I am doing the home routine). The dips behind the back I can actuall do 15 without falling down. Doing another 15 is another story, so I do 5, 5, and then 5 more. Good Luck, keep it up. We should monitor each others progress. It would be good to know what ups and down we both have along the way.

I think helping each other is a great idea. I can tell you one pitfall I had was last week wasn't very good food wise... I came home Thursday, and my husband was STARVING and had ordered a pizza! He did also order a chicken salad for me, but I had a piece of pizza too!! Naughty naughty. It's stuff like that that we have to pay attention to!

I know what you mean. We got pizza one night and my DH will eat almost a whole one by himself and the kids get mad so of course I buy two, well I ended up having some and it was so good I had some more. Thanks for the story I am not even ordering it anymore if they want it they can go out and have it. OOOO what an idea, send DH and DD's out. Peace and quiet!! Then I can have salad and some fish or chicken and i won't even have to smell the pizza. My email at work is carolt@vjscozzariandsons.com if you want to keep in touch.

Congratulations to you Cristalbelle. Keep up the good work. Very impressive improvement! Hard work and consistency does have its rewards. As we age, this is even more true, and you can never go back to your old eating habits. Good for you!-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |
