I like this site and the owner does keep things simple. For those that spend a lot of time tracking low gi vs hi gi foods, you might find this article interesting. Full text is at:

"So, we see that if we diet right we can eat our carbs, and burn our fat too, as long as we stick to the low-GI variety. Here are a few rules of thumb that you can use when choosing carbs to diet with."

1. Use high bran cereals instead of low sugar cereals.
2. Choose whole fresh fruit instead of processed fruit products
3. Choose foods and meals with a low Glycemic Load (GL) (Glycemic Load = GI/100 x amount carbs in food portion or meal)
4. Avoid high GI and high GL foods and meals

GI may well have some inferrence if you are diabetic, but not really that relevant if you are a normal healthy individual. Take a look at the GI index and you will find some 'odd' occurences. Like jelly beans being lower than pinto beans, etc. Bottom line is noone eats just a serving size of carrots(the amount that they show is very high GI). Most of us eat mixed meals, and this changes everything.

One thing to think about also, the more cardiovascularly fit(aerobically fit) you are, you will have a much better response to GI foods than someone who is not.

I know there is a list in a book called sugar busters...but I would bet you could google it and get something on the net...there may even be a list on this site...I know I was surprised to see that there is WAY more sugar in grapes than peanut m&m's.
