I have been weightlifting for about 3 years now, I have got bigger since I started but not by much, I now am looking to get a bit more ripped, but the problem I have is I already feel fatigued as soon as I start my workout no matter what muscle I am training, and this is causing me to get fed up with the gym in general, I do work long hours, but I doubt that makes any difference,

Any suggestions on why I feel fatigued at the beginning of my workout, and how to loose this fed up feeling?

How much sleep are you getting? What are you eating before a workout? How often are you working out? What's your routine?

I get about 7 hours a night, and I only eat a banana before I workout, because of work thats all i have time to eat, I workout 3 days a week,

this is my routine,

monday, chest and biceps, 5 exercises, 3 sets of 7 to 8 reps

Wednesday, back and triceps, 5 exercises, 3 sets of 7 to 8 reps

Friday, little bit of chest/legs and shoulders, 4 exercises, 3 sets of again 7 to 8 reps,

and i do abs after every workout, crunches, 3 sets of 26, leg raises, 4 sets of 18, and side crunches, 3 sets of 14

I have tried changing my routine around, which didn't make any difference, I am constantly tired which is slowly putting me off going to the gym, even though i do enjoy it

You many wanna consume more than just a banana. I think you'll need to figure out a way to get more food in. What's the rest of the day like food-wise?

Have you swapped the time of day you work out?

Definitely need to eat something more substantial an hour or so before workout. It's like how would you expect to race a car if you didn't put any fuel in the tank?

Try drinking more water also. I've found that it helped me out a lot. If nothing else, caffeine can help for an energy boost before a workout if done correctly.

yea i know a banana aint enough but between finishing work and going to the gym thats all i have time to eat, my diet is ok in general, i can only eat 2 times a day tho, i never used to eat that much wen i first started training years ago and always had energy, just the past few months i have been struggling. I can't train at different times cos of work, i start work at 6am and finish at 5pm, my gym opens at 6am and closes at 10pm, thats why i have to go after work.

I drink water all through the day cos they got free water machines at work so i make sure i drink a lot of that, but i dont drink anything with caffeine in it, that's something i will have to try

You NEED to eat more. If you have time to peel a banana and eat it, you have time for a sandwich or something. Pre-make meals before hand. Something. Eating twice a day just ain't gonna cut it.
