May have gone too heavy with the weight? Did you use any? This is a rather dangerous exercise if you are like me, and all or nothing person. I have a tendency to always pile on the weight, no matter what I do. So I finally learned to avoid these type exercises. If this is the case with you, you may try hyperextensions instead, it is what I do with pretty good success.

I don't know if its totally right but when you bend over I round off my or bend too much then it seems to hurt.. I try to bend over until my back is just about flat (maybe a tad more) as if i'm getting ready to do a deadlift... i'm not sure if thats right but if you ever attemp the exercise again give it a shot...

on a side note your new pic FINALLY showed up for me.. killer progress j.. looks like your arms are shaping up pretty good too.. how many inches you add to those things since that before pic...

You could have a pinched nerve. It is interesting though that the feeling is in the upper back. That could be from rolling your back, but hard to say. I really like good mornings, but have found that stiff legged deadlifts give me the same or more results. They are easier to control since the weight is not on your back. However, you must still keep your back straight.

Deadlifts are one answer, but if you are lifting heavier than you should you may have the same problem. As I stated, you may try hypers. I hold a weight, usually a 25lb. plate, and do a deliberate movement. Find it hits my lower back very well, and have NEVER since had the back problem. Again, good luck.
