Any of you guys trained using those gloves with a steal hook, to illiminate the need for wraps. Firstly just wondered if any one had any experience of these. secondly, Im looking to order a pair along with 2 tubs of hydroxycut. Anyone know of any any sites that could deliver both, id prefere the states or another country, where they include Ma huang in the hydroxycut.
Thanks all
Jon

No experience with gloves with hooks. They sound pretty unsafe though. I'm a fight choreographer and the first thing I always think about is safety. If for some reason you have a problem you can just pull off the straps. It's kinda like chaining yourself to a truck. And for the other question try universalnutrition.com

Well hooks might be unsafe for some things but I always thought they might help with some exercises such as hanging leg raises and hanging twists... my hands always hurt before my lower abs seem like their done.. although I haven't tried straps or hooks.. I have just a normal pair of fitness gloves.. I should look into something else soon too.. these are about to fall apart...

I've tried both. I think the hooks are better you don't have to waste time wrapping it around to whatever your gonna grip. Also let me tell you that you should only use them when your forearms are dead tired!! When your still fresh you should let your forearms workout too when doing back or deadlifts. Only when your forearms are tired from working out and you feel that you can't hold on to heavy weights then and then only should you use straps or hooks. Why? Because you wanna build and maintain your grips strength. If you use hooks or straps all the time, over time your grip strength will weaken affecting your back or deadlift workouts. If you feel you can't hold on to the bar then bring on the hooks or straps. Remember the forearms are a small muscle they get tired easily. You shouldn't have to sacrifice a good back workout or a deadlift because of your forearms strength. And as far as hanging leg raises and hanging twists etc. you should use them for those. Since your concentrating on abs.

Jon, I use the wraps a lot. I use them for shruggs and that's it. Although I'm going to have to get a new pair soon. I noticed mine tearing the other day. I guess it's the age in my case (mine lasted about 2 years). I tried the hooks your talking about once with shruggs and the vercro wouldn't stay fastened. If I got a pair of them I would make sure they had some kind of buckle not velcro. Talking about a saftey problem - imagine doing shruggs and the velcro comming loose and 300 lbs hitting the floor or your foot because I don't know about you but I can't hold onto as much weight as I can shrugg. Just my 2 cents worth, be carefull not to get a pair that won't hold good.

Thanks SeanMS,
I just brought some Super Grippers from MaxMuscle. Its a glove with a flap of rubber, that wraps around the bar. I'll let you know how I get on.

ive never used straps or hooks, only chalk. i found that they would take away from my grip too much.
