Im just wondering how much you are restricted by genes. If you do not have the genes for it would it be impossible to be all cut up and fairly huge, or would it just be more difficult?

Unfortunately, no matter what the advertisements for supplements will tell you...i.e...blast past your genetics, etc., this limits all of us. If you are the classic ecto for instance, chances are extremely high that you will never be then next Arnold. In fact, being a heavyweight is probably out of the question. Now,does this mean you can't be good at a lighter weight? No, there are lots of really good lightweight, welterweight, middleweight bodybuilders out there. I know, I have competed against many of them.

You are who your genes tell you you're going to be. There are very few ways to overcome your genetic limitations. When you set goals for yourself, take your genetics into account. If you're 6'3" and 140lbs, I'd bet against you being the next Dorian Yates or Ronny Coleman. But just because you can't get as huge as those guys, don't get discouraged and give up. As bb1 said above, if you plan on competing try another weight class. Train hard for yourself, not for an audience.
