Hi, for the record right now im trying to gain mass. In about a month or so i plan on doing a cutting phase and try hard to make those abs a little more visible. Anyways i just started taking whey protein powder again and made huge gains not only with lifting but also on the scale. Im definately not complaining :) just wondering why this may be as im only taking in a few extra calories and the amino acids and such but 5lbs! seems like a little much

Give it time to level off. That's often just water weight if it comes on really fast.

Your weight will float as much as 5lbs throughout the day. You could have just taken your weight at the wrong time.

Pain is only temporary, it is in your mind. If you can still walk, then you can still run.

Wrestler makes a good point. If your gonna weigh yourself, do it consistantly at the same time of day. First thing in the morning for instance, after a BM.
