Im a newbie. I've started the 12 week abs program and though I can feel it burn while doing the crunches, the feeling goes away five minutes after. Should I up my reps? am I doing something wrong?

Feeling the effect from the execises will only happen to some, while only doing the exercise. Doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong.
Some people don't even get sore after exercising. Don't use it as a gauge to say wether your workout was good or bad.
Hope this helps.

Abs are a body supporting exercise, kind of indirectly get worked all the time anyway, so it really is kind of rare I think to get DOMS in them after you have been training them a while. They are very resilient. This does not mean you didn't work them.

Good luck with the abs; I would suggest mixing it up to...I use ab machine, captain's chair, exercise ball, and incline bench just to keep those abs guessing.
