i'm reposting this hear because i've had no hit on this thread in the exercise diet forum.
I was wondering whats the ratios for muscle. How much fat does one pound of muscle, if your active?

umm dang i typoed it wrong it should be how much ft is burnt by a pound of muscle or can that question really be answered at all?

Adding a lb of muscle is supposed to burn an extra 50 calories, however, your metabolism quickly adapt. A better answer would be that studies have consistently shown that weight training has the ability to raise base metabolic rate by 15% on average.

Actually I believe it is less than that, a recent paper I just read stated 6%. I will try to dig it up later.

Id believe 6 among athletes. 15% would not surprise me though, of course it depends on the nature of the study, and the program used. Let me know Ron.
