So I'm fat, I'm 6'2 and weigh 220 pounds. I diet for 1-2 days and do the cardio etc and then I just can't do it anymore and give in and eat stuff...so I came up with an idea in the shower since I looked down and could not see mr.happy I felt very very fat and so here is my idea...
I'm going to make a website and everyday put a picture of me on the site without my shirt on so the entire world can see my fat hairy stomach and then I would have to keep up with the diet...Do you think this is a stupid idea? I'm thinking it might be great motivation for me.

When I had trouble, I would just look in the mirror and be disgusted.. and that was enough for me to keep going.

Whatever it takes to motivate you is acceptible. We all have different things that work, this may be yours.
One note, if you think of what you are doing as a "diet", you will probably fail. All diets are doomed to failure at some point as they are not normally sustainable. It is a lifestyle change you need to get programmed in your head. With this reality, it will work. It is simply about healthy eating habits, that will not only make you healthier, but will allow you to see Mr. Happy again.
Here are some ideas that may well help...Eat small meals...balanced meals tend to stimulate metabolism and lighten the load on the digestive system. Good snacks and smaller meals provide a steady supply of amino acids and energy to keep the brains neurochemistry(hunger) stable. A mix of healthy lean protein, good fats, and complex carbs will sustain energy levels. An example could be 3 oz. chicken, or even a piece of buffalo jerky. Shrimp is also great(not fried). Or you could opt for hard boiled eggs, a protein shake or protein mixed with some yogurt, tuna salad, egg salad, etc. For good fats some nuts(walnuts are a great choice, or almonds).
Grazing is key. Getting away from the idea of a snack being potato chips and dip or cookies is imparitive to success. Try new things, save some stir fry from the night before and have it...fresh veggies and fruits are great snacks, as calorie for calorie, they are very nutritious and nutritionally dense.
Good luck to you....remember, lifestyle change, not diet!!! Throw the word diet out of your vocabulary.

That's why my picture comes up every time I post. I had my husband take it like this so I can see how much fat I need to lose.

do a dirty trick if your appetite is out of control- go atkins style for 2 weeks. you know just protein and about 20g of carbs daily if at all- shock yourself into it. then have a fridge ready with good fruit/veg and whole foods and start a new healthy lifestyle... everytime you wander off course then reshock yourself.
or you could eat a bar of chocolate naked in front of a mirror.
