What other exercises are there besides the seated twist to target the obliques?

You can stand with dumbbell in each hand, arms straight down at your side and then tilt your torso left to right.

You can use the Lower Back Hyperextension Bench and rest up against your hips and eighter tilt body upwards or use it like you would for lower back. This also can be done on a Stability Ball.

You could lie on your back and do elbo to knee crunches, same side knee and elbo. Can be done just in single, straight elbow too knee or can be done in triples, elbow too knee then twist oposite elbo over too the knee then twist same side elbo too knee and repete.

You can Iso Abs on you sides.

Your Best bet is to Google in Oblique Exersizes or Core Workouts and get picks shown too you.

I know I left out a lot more but Google will aanswer you!

Actually, I wouldn't worry much about doing this. The obliques are so small, just overall core exercises will hit them. YOu are not going to make the big or show with any exercise...diet will bring them out.

I had a bodybuilder tell me once he didn't like too do them because it made his waist too big, not sure on his correctness about it but it's what he claimed.

Silly thing to say...obliques are not big enough to make a waist look bigger, even if you can work them and make them grow. I would venture to guess it was more like fat. :)

To wit....its muscular portion occupies the side, its aponeurosis the anterior wall of the abdomen. In most humans (especially males), the oblique is not visible, due to subcutaneous fat deposits and the small size of the muscle.

Bodybuilders are a rare breed...typical bodybuilding dogma. They/we tend to micromanage everything when this need not be. Hard lesson to learn with all the 'misinformation' abounding these days.
