I have been working out for 2 months straight, everyday except fridays. My goal is to tone my body and to lose weight. The only results I have been seeing is a sudden weight gain of 10 pounds. What am I doing wrong? My eating habits consist of drinking only water and eating 3 times a day before 8:00. However, I tend to not always eat the healthiest foods but I figure if I am working out it shouldn't matter. I have also used hydroxycut and saw no results. I believe this because I never worked out with it. I am debating if I should purchase metabolife or the infamous hollywood diet. Help me with what I could do to tone and lose the weight. WHen i work out, I build muscle and fail to burn the fat.

WEll with out knowing what you weigh height etc...it is kinda hard. Eating just three timesa a day is not good.. As for the weight gain do you see a difference in the mirror. The scale is not a good way to measure your sucess. Go out and buy a cloth measuring tape. Measure your waist arms etc. As you lift and gain muscle you will loose fat. Muscle takes less room but weighs more so you could see a weight gain of 10lbs but be actually loosing body fat....hope this helps!
-------------- If you can still itch your nose after arm day, go do another set wussie!!!!

Filling out your profile would be a good start.
First off, yes, overexercise does delay progress because your body and heart cannot keep up with your efforts.
Second of all, diet is 80-90% of the battle. Clwean up your diet and switch to 5-6 smaller meals a day.
Search through the posts here and you will find a lot of good advice on eating, workouts, motivation, everything.
Try one of the programs on this site - they work!

As mutt and asimmer said for anything but general pointers we need more info. But if you are training and just eating according to how hungry you feel needs you body will naturally take in more food and use it to build muscle to make it easier to adapt to the strains you put on it. This extra muscle will then increase your weight on the scales.
It’s not all bad news though, as mutt said you could have still been losing fat, and you have just made a net gain of weight through because of the extra muscle. Scales are a really bad way to judge progress they take no account of how much is fat and how much is healthy tissues. Also the work you are doing should have toned your muscles. Though if you want to slim and tone you will need to start addressing the diet.
