Tequila2003 --- How many inches? Don't just focus on your weight some weeks you may loose inches. I once lost 4 inches total and gained 0.5 pounds. I measure calf, thigh, hip, waist, upper arm and chest. weekly as well. |

jennifergarza18 ---I've heard people going bananas about Zumba! the only thing I could possibly advise is to pace yourself. I personally found that I started working out better when I didn't beat myself up if I genuinely couldn't complete a session. Pick the baton back up the following session and make it count. I use to give myself a real guilt trip, but that doesn't help you either! |

Hi,
I'm freshly new to the site. My motivation came to me in waves this last couple of weeks. Ist, watching a tv show about heart disease and women. The show brought me to the shocking conclusion that I show 3 of 5 major symptoms of heart disease. Secondly, I notice that my size is not what really matters. My overall health, energy level and life expectancy is what I need to focus on. I'm 5'2'' and weigh 190.2 lbs today (this morning before breakfast). With a BMI in the obese range, I really need to get started. 2 years ago, I had lost 25 lbs bringing me to 165 lbs. Lowest I had been in overs 12 years. Gained it back with an extra 5 lbs... Giving in to old habits is what brought me back to where I am today. I think and hope that the change in motivation, from looking better to feeling better, is what will help me get to my goal weight and stay there. I do need all the help I can get. Current weight 190.2 lbs as of 02/247/2012 Start weight 190.2 lbs as of 02/24/2012 My goal weight 135 lbs - hopefully by January 2013 Thank you! |

Hey guys,
Been away for a while also. I haven't had a great time lately either. Haven't not been so good with the food and in spite of all the running and workout sessions haven't managed to shed any lbs. I keeping motivated though (even when the children are having pizza) and know that even if I fall of track I can limit how badly I fall off and I can compensate and pick the baton up again later or tomorrow. I am relying on you guys for the motivation and you can feel free to do the same with me. Come on guys, don't lose faith. We all have very realistic goals and the only thing getting in the way of that could only be ourselves! |

I am doing a combo of resistence bands and ball exercises. I currently have a foot injury that is limitting some of my mobility until my orthotics come in and the injury can heal. Well I've had day 2 of my work out plan and I feel relatively good! Except that I am absolutely exhausted. Any suggestions on how I can feel more energized? I get enough sleep but still feel very sleepy!
Oh and my weight today was 155.6! Sure hope I can start to see some results soon! |

I am a 30 yr old mom of one,my husband and I would like to have another child but I would like to lose weight first.I am not sure what made me want to start loosing weight but about 6 weeks ago I decided I was going to lose weight. When I started I weighed 307, the second week I weighed 297, the third week I weighed 304,forth week 297, fifth week 294, and just yesterday I weighed myself and I had gained a pound.
My son and husband are my motivations to loose weight now, I love them both so much and I want to loose for my health too. |

this week I am back on track. I have a Gazelle and did 2 1/2 miles Tuesday and 3 miles in 38 minutes today. My heart rate was not to bad through it all. I am waiting for spring so I can run in something besides mud. More snow coming tonight and tomorrow so I suspect some shoveling on Monday. Back to lifting too. Yeah. I hurt just about everywhere. It is a good hurt not an over zealous hurt. Off to work for 3 days. Lost about an inch this week. I will hopefully weigh in on Sunday and the scale should be back to normal. My little line scale has me at 140ish lets hope. TTFN

Laurenilla214 --- Do not focus on daily weight as we do in my job we look at the weekly trend. Everyone goes up and down daily so take it easy on yourself. If you are exhausted then taper you work out plan. You may be pushing yourself too hard and with that comes exhaustion and not weight loss. Take it easy and slow. Good Luck |

Hi, guys. Brand new to the site! I weighed myself today at 200 pounds, which is about what I've been sitting at for a year or so. My motivation for losing weight is mainly my health; my family has history of heart disease and diabetes, neither of which I want to deal with! I'm scheduled to start my workouts on Monday but plan on starting to eat better as of tonight. I'm doing the at-home workout, walking (I live in a rural area where I could walk several miles and not be bothered, even at night), and helping out with baseball/softball practice in the area for my niece and nephews. My goal weight is 120 pounds and I'll probably be weighing in weekly.

ready4summer12 --- I can totally relate. In my last relationship, the guy I was dating was tall, skinny, and had a fast metabolism. He ate whatever he wanted, didnt work out much, and yet never gained a lb. I started eating more fast food while I was with him and packed on some unwanted weight. I am a huge gym rat and stay very active, but I have poor eating habits. I know whats healthy and used to eat very healthy (before that relationship), but am having a hard time getting back to those old habits.. bad food tastes too good, lol. My goal is to lose 10lbs: 5'2" current weight: 132lbs target weight: 122lbs |

Today I am weighing in at 160 ... I think. 11st 6lbs anyway. With the circuit training I am seeing definite muscles in my arms, shoulders & legs. I know that muscle weighs more than fat so this will become my new level of reasoning hahaha! Height 5.5 Current weight 11st 6lbs Target weight 10st 6lbs |

Hello, I am just joining this group. I am 51, going on 52 and have been trying to lose weight for some time. I have hypothyroidism so I have to take Levothyroxine daily. I used to be in a semi-decent shape but the last year or so, seem to have lost control of my weight. I try to go to the gym when I get off duty but it is pretty crowded. By the time I get home, it is dark so riding my bike is not really a safe idea. I tend to get sidetracked playing Gears of War 3 on my days off and the gym is in a different city than where I live. With the price of gas, I can usually talk myself out of going to the gym also. I try to watch what I eat but don't really have a lot of support at home for this. My housemate buys chips, candy and other snacks, as well as cooking stuff like potato salad, fried pork chops, fried fish, sausage and other fattening foods. At work, my biggest temptation is a fellow worker who brings donut holes and kolaches, as well as chocolate candy. I weigh 216.2 as of yesterday. I started out at 228 but lost the weight down to where I am when I had a trainer at the gym. I also suffer from insomnia so sometimes I wake up and eat a pop tart or cookies if we have some in the house. I have gotten much better at drinking water, at least 40 ounces a day, now. I try to stay away from sodas and eat more veggies. I have found that I do much better on a weight loss program or exercise routine if I am held accountable somehow. So any help would be appreciated!

I did my measuring and lost about 1/2 inch. Cleaned entertainment center and found more exercise cd's. I had to do the body sculpting which only used bands. Of course I did all 36 exercises. I was amazed to feel the tightness and tenderness the next day. So, did a wimpy 30 min aerobic one the next day. I then finished off with the program and I am glad to be working. Every large muscle group is moaning at the moment.
Bought a digital scale and will weigh in on Sunday and compare to the scale at work. All have a great weekend.TTFN |

Today's Weight (3/11/12): 192 That seems big. I'm working on getting a more accurate scale that will show tenths of a pound but this still seems like a lot to have lost. Is it because it's the first week? Water weight? |

It is spring for the moment so today I can run my little mile or so without snow or mud!.Then I can lift this afternoon. I need ot keep track of what I eat. Since not shoveling snow I actually gained weight. Who knew how many calories shoveling took. Lets hope for a good week. TTFN

G'day my name is Amie and Im 32years old and I weigh 101 kgs.
Eight months ago I had a accident at work and ended up with prolapsed disc's in my lumbur spine and therasic (prob spelt wrong) spine. I've had a disecectomy on my L5/S1 a month ago. During these months Ive gained 19kgs as I was very active prior to my accident and I had two jobs saving up for our first house deposit. My day job was as a maintenance person which I was lifting two bags of concrete (weighing 20kgs each) at a time and climbing on roofs and installing bathroom vanities, now I am not allowed to even lift a basket of washing until given to ok from the specialist (which Im seeing on Friday 16-03-12). Ive been cleared by my physio to start doing light exercise but still find it painful to walk for more than 8mins for exercise which upsets me as I have always used walking as a way of loosing weight so I started one of your programes but find it very hard to do the leg work outs so I do not. My goal is to get back to loving my physical self by loosing the 19 kilos. There are so many battles I have concured throughout this journey I have battled highs and very low's and Im on medication for depression and for pain. Mentally I do not know where I am accept that every second day I get up to do my training because that it is something thats going to help me achieve my goals. Tonight I even did my workout at 9:30pm as I have had a very busy day and thank goodness I had shoulders and tricepts as I dont think I would of handled chest and bicepts. Any ways Im going to loose 19kgs and I will loose 1kg a week through hard work and healthy eating if I do not loose 1kilo a week it will not let it knock me down as I know I can achieve great things. Thank you for reading my story. Cheers Amie Beck |

My name is Alvin. I am a US Marine. I injured my back about a year ago and my matabolism has gone down a LOT. We have a weigh-in today and my max weight is 197 lbs being 5'11". I decided to step on a scale last week and I was at 202 lbs! So I have been watching what I eat all week and drinking gallons of water a day and I am down to 197.8 lbs. I will have been fasting for 24 hours (including water) when I weigh-in and should be fine, but this is the first time I've ever had to worry about it and I hate it! And to make it worse, it's my very last weigh-in in the corps (I get out in May). So I am completely new to dieting and weight watching and would welcome any help/advice/support I can get. My goal is to get back down to 175 lbs.

ready4summer12, Just remind your self that the scale isn't the end-all be-all. If you're working out then you could be building muscle mass, which is why you would SEE the weight loss even though the scale can't. You might want to spend a few extra bucks for a scale that calculates BMI and make goals based off of that. |
