Does anyone find Creatine to help you lift more or for longer? do you take it before or after? or at all?.. I just wanna bulk up and gain about 10 pounds, figured creatine might aid me in reaching my goal.

I think 20 grams per day is too much. I've read that 5 grams total per day is more than adequate because your body just gets rid of the excess, no carry over.

I meant that your body (obviously depending on size) can only use so much over what it already naturally produces in a given day. Exercise intensity plays little into this.

5 grams a day has been shown to be enough in more than a few studies. It has also been show that the timing really doesn't matter. If you want links to those studies I can find them, but I don't have them off hand.

here is a post i found very helpful when i first started taking creatine...

http://www.freetrainers.com/FT/jsp/Message.jsp?f_ix=13&t_ix=3137

take into consideration that everyone responds differently to creatine based on a number of variables...and some dont respond to it at all...some can take mono OR EE and get the same effect from either...everything is trial and error...diet, exercise routine, and supplements..the most important thing is to give it a chance(more than a week or 2)!!!...

HOWEVER, sometimes you might consider the idea that *if it aint broke, dont fuss with it!!*... if your finding your making progress without taking this, that or the other..then proceed til you hit a *plateau*..whether that is a weight loss/gain, muscle gain, or in strength...then look into some options...

I say this because here is an example...som ppl swear by Nitric oxide...i know some ppl tho that find it bloats them, causes joint popping and some dont like the *crash* later on...

geesh, i could only imagine if i had listened over a year ago guys how much even farther i would be now!!...lol

now that i read back on that post i really dont think the monohydrate was THAT effective as I made it out to be..hehehe

i will be taking CEE right away after my comp..cant wait to get my strength and muscle mass back ..woot!!!

There is no such thing as a *set point*. Im only set on getting past this point :)

Basically i would just like to gain 10 pounds then go off creatine and maintain that weight without the use of creatine.. im not to keen on using creatine plus there's already small amounts of creatine and glutamine in the protein im taking anyway, i just wanna use a bit extra creatine to get me to my goal weight.. also im sort of at a plateau so figured it might help.. been benching 245 for a while now, trouble getting past it.. anyhow, thanx for your input it has helped me.

In all honesty it won't do you THAT much help. Just eat. Up your calories by 300-400 calories each day and lift like a machine and you'll get that 10 pounds without having to go on and off of creatine.
